Afternoon play

This afternoon I have been playing about with some stitcheries I have done....have been deciding how to finish them off....these are from drawings by Barb Smith in one of her little books, which I have to admit is still somewhere safe!!!
I have used one of these little blank canvas squares to put the stitchery on.

This one is slightly bigger and slightly off centre but after 5 attempts to get it even and straight I decided it was to be wonky!!!!

And blogger in its infinite wisdom has turned this photo sideways twice! I don't understand how that happens. For this one I used fabric I had painted and stamped on at Barb's workshop.
We had a storm early morning and very heavy rain, good for the garden...
And maybe for the grass....we had Lake Gisborne this morning

And lots of water out the front ...
but the local livestock seem to be happy!
Happy sewing.

Lovely day

Hasn't it been a great day....I got to spend some of it in the garden..... I was pruning the roses and didn't have my glasses on....I saw a bit of rose that was a different colour....so got the glasses and camera and found it was a huge stick insect trying to look like a branch, did a pretty good job of it too...
I am thankful I didn't cut it by mistake...
The supervisor was on standby....I am not sure what for....lol!!

I finished this lovely stitchery last night, just need to sew on some more beads and then decided what to do from there.
Hope you have had a great day.

Special Brew

Today I got onto the Internet and looked up natural rabbit deterrents.....as the one who sits on the couch isn't deterring much! Lol! So now I have a brew brewing on the bench...garlic, chilli water and dish washing detergent.....leave to brew for one or two days and then spray on the things you don't want the rabbits to eat.....apparently they do not like strong smelling things......I must have uneducated rabbits as they are eating the rosemary and lavender and they are strong smelling to me........we shall see what happens....

Here is the brew

and I hope these are the plants I can save

Wednesday group tonight so I off to pack my bag...and not forget to take my stitchery like I did last week!
Happy sewing.

Cleanup

Today has been another clean and sort day.....the craft room has gone from this
Yup, messy I agree but I knew where everything was....well nearly!! Lol!!
Well blogger has rearranged  the order of my photos, but not to worry, it is a  beautiful day outside today

Jenny sewed together many squares, rectangles and hexagons into blankets while we were away and now I have done a crochet edge on most of them

Guess where the supervisor was for most of the day!!

Clearing nearly done...I keep finding something else to do!!

DH moved in and pulled the table to bits, loaded it onto the trailer and off to the tip
This is where we are up to now.....time for the vacuum cleaner me thinks...but first there is more to do in the garden!!
See you later.
Oh I nearly forgot, some of the yellow tailed black cockatoos were in the garden last evening
There were six of the chatting away up there.

Sit and Sew

Last night Donna invited us to her place....she has air conditioning!!!!! Yay!!!! As you can probably gather we do not, so it was an absolute pleasure to have a few hours in a cool place!
Donna made me this amazing drink! Yum! It had a mandarin flavour....

here we are enjoying Donna's house! Tracee, me, Tania, Margaret and Donna

some visitors came to the back yard....

Tracee was a hard one to get a photo of...she kept moving...maybe I need to change the camera setting to sport, then I would get her!! Lol!! She has a swish new haircut and looks lovely...Marg was busy sewing, Donna was checking out the visitors....

Tonight I found a different setting on my camera that allows me to take a split photo so I had to have a play...Tania and Donna...Donna was sorting magazines and trying to decide what to keep and what to send to the op shop..not an easy task!!

I was too slow to catch the elusive Tracee again but got Marg's beautiful smile! I didn't get any photos of what we were actually sewing...I was too busy chatting, eating, drinking...but then you do have to keep up your fluids on a hot evening!! And we have another one to look forward to tomorrow!!
Happy sewing!

Yellow tailed black cockatoos

Some visitors to the garden last Friday, there were 8 of them in the hakeas when I drove into the driveway. Beautiful (but noisy) birds.
