This afternoon

I have been happily sitting at the dining room table playing with paints. There is a challenge 8 of us at the Bellarine Quilters have taken up, and that is to make 12 Christmas blocks by December. We will put them all on a table together and choose one form each pile...that way we end up with a Christmas quilt. .that is the theory anyway. So I decided to do mine with paint

For some reason the tablet decided this ginge should be sideways, I am sorry for that!!
The patterns are from a book called 12 Days of Christmas by Nancy Halvorsen.
Once the painting is finished I will put stabiliser on the back and do some free range quilting, then maybe do a little more painting.
It has been relaxing sitting here painting, looking out the window sometimes, watching the changes of weather go by. There have been some lovely rainbows this afternoon today.
I had better go and check dinner.
Happy sewing.

Problem resolved

Well I have been trying to make a blog entry and have had to wait and wait and wait..........it took forever just to get the blog up let alone do a post......so yesterday I had a look at our internet usage and lo and behold.....now that No 1 son is home all the months allowance was gone and we are only part way through the month! So today I had to gather all my patience in both hands and get on the phone to Telstra and see what we could do. I got a really lovely helpful lady and we are now all fixed up ........well it should be all happening by Thursday, but she has put our usage back to zero so we can get faster access again! I am impressed!!!
But enough of that.......this is what happens when you go away for a weekend....you could come home to this.....
furniture outside....

dining area in disarray...

nearly empty room......yes DH has decided to paint the lounge dining area!! Could be like this for several days!

Painchwork

I have had a lovely relaxing afternoon - have been painting on fabric and had a visit from Tania carrying a chai! I started here with traced pictures

then after relaxing painting - relaxing because I didn't manage to spill paint on the fabric or the floor and I do find it very relaxing - kind of like colouring in, I ended  up with this below!

Next step is to free range quilt on all the chalk lines (they look black now) and then decide if I do anything else to them before binding. I am a happy bunny this afternoon! Lol!!
