Word photo challenge

It is that time of the week, actually I am a little late, to join up over at alshasspace with Shaz to post the word photo of the week. The word was UNCLUTTERED and I was challenged to find a place here that would fit the bill!! I had to settle on the bathroom after removing a few things I had left in there!!
Ok, now I really have to go and sort dinner!!! Lol!! Although I just realised I was an hour ahead of myself and it is 6pm now and not 7pm!! Still adjusting to daylight savings here!!
Pop over to alshasspace to see the other UNCLUTTERED photos.
Happy days.

Sit and sew # 3

Today I have been over to Barwon Heads for the Seachange meet up....talk about a lot happening this week!!! I didn't get much stitching done as I was the spotter person for Bronwyn who was quilting a quilt for a soon to arrive grand child.
Ena, Bronwyn and Lynn discussing the quilt...it was comprised of many 2 and a half inch squares..the colour range was amazing!

here we are part way through quilting, really liking how the flowers pop up

and here is the finished quilt..pretty huh!!
On my way home I went for a walk along the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail trail near Drysdale and had a look for some geocaches...

this garden caught my eye!!! Wonder if they are modeled on family members?? They have a wonderful crop of pumpkins here too.

I am fascinated with the gum from the wattle trees, this looks a bit like a creature popping out of the tree!!
Today I also brought home a little quilt that had been made and quilted and needs its binding done, that was going to be done when I got home, but.....
ready for binding, front

back

I also brought home this fabric, I thought it would make a wonderful quilt for a child

and this would be the backing.
I had better head off and get dinner organised or hubby will be complaining!!
Happy sewing.

here are some of the finished blocks made for the raffle quilt for the show later in the year

and this is a quilt made by Linda, it was a kit she got through a magazine, the blue colour is darker in real life

a close up

and my Dresden plate that I thought was finished, is now really finished!! Lol!! I added the center today.  We had a great day of chatting and sewing and exchanging ideas.
Happy sewing.

Sunday sit and sew

Sunday morning I set out bright and early..I was up early as it was day light saving change over night and I always manage to wake up too soon! I set of for Shez's place just before 8am and wandered thru Geelong and off up the road, missing the turn off to Bannockburn!! So I had to do a U turn and go back and find it. My next stop was for a comfort stop in Shelford and I was drawn to the beautiful gum trees on the river bank
aren't they beautiful?? Such a quiet peaceful place, I was tempted to stay a while, but thank goodness I didn't as I got lost again and ended up in Skipton and had to head back along the highway to Scarsdale!! Talk about a tiki tour!! Those who know me will say that is quite normal!! Lol!!!

Shez was busy in the kitchen preparing beautiful lunch food

some chatting happened..Shez, Barb Cheryl..

Annie and Karen working away

Mick, hubby of Cheryl challenged me to a photo...Shorty he called me!!! Lol!! Just 'cos he is 6 ft 8 inches!!! Cheeky bugger!!!

After a wonderful lunch we had a walk down the back of the block to see the new dam

I had a look in the old bus

had a photo with theses lovely ladies.Cheryl, Sheryl, me and Marina.

We had a group photo taken by Mick...which is why it look as though we are being looked down on!! Lol!!!

Ah Ann, you make me laugh every time I see you!!! Wonderful fun lady! And Annie just in the frame is a great funny lady too...all the City girls are come to that!!
It was a wonderful sit and sew day, thank you Shez for looking after us so well, it was a fantastic opportunity to see Cheryl once again and catch up with Tracee, the City Girls, Barb and Karen.
I managed to get home without getting lost, just in time to see the sun going down
Love sunset shots over Eastern Beach.

and here goes the sun...it was so peaceful sitting watching the sun go down.

We were all given a goodie bag from Shez, mine had a Shez towel, some pickle and tomato relish and a special jar of nut butter!!! Yum!!! many thanks Shez for the treats.
Happy sewing.

Birthday celebrations

Yesterday we went to the 80th birthday party of a great friend and previous neighbour. We lived next door to the Buller family for 8 years in Eltham....when I went into labour with our first son and I couldn't get hold of David, Giselle drove me to the hospital!! She is a fun loving, generous person and it was evident from the comments made at her party that she has made and kept many friends over the years she has been in Australia. I think that says it all.
the birthday girl

the beautiful cake her grand daughter made...the flowers are all handmade as are the choc covered fruit

the extended family...mum,daughter,two sons, grand daughter, two grandsons, partners, grand children and one great grand child.
Happy birthday Giselle.

FNWF results

I started in the afternoon with my sewing and got a few things finished I am happy to say
these photos are out of order and blogger has decided to put some of the sideways and as I am on the tablet I do not know how to alter them!!! Sorry about that....think of it as neck exercises!!! Lol!! This Xmas deco just needs the top part trimmed and the card put in, then I can join them together..love the Barb Smith buttons.

I made a zipper bag for a friend at the Geekong Guild with a piece of her most favourite fabric..

I finished a secret project...more to come on that one..

and did some more on the Santa stitchery, just his face to go now, I had a very productive evening...thank you Cheryll for hosting us. If you have a visit to Cheryll you can see what the other Friday nighters have been making....lots of beautiful things I am sure.
