FNWF

After a busy day and dinner out with Adam and family I got stuck into my temperature tree
The start
And here is where I finished up last night, I have caught up to June. I am enjoying the changes in temp from being at home and then when we have been away.
I have been trying to catch up with the weeding the last few days, I mowed the back grass, need to do the front, maybe tomorrow.
Hubby has been in hospital for 2 weeks, he had a cancerous growth removed from his bowel, the anaesthetic and Parkies played havoc with his brain, making him paranoid and frightened. Thankfully he is coming good and is more like his usual self.
I had a walk along the foreshore in Geelong after visiting today.

Off to do some machine sewing i think .
Happy stitching.

This week

I decided it was time to scrub the table on the front deck and to sandwich a quilt that has been on the spare bed for months, it was breezy outside but pleasant
We had the grand fur kids over for the afternoon
They enjoyed their dog peanut butter biscuits
Earlier in the day I had a walk with Beth and Finn
The bookcase quilt has been quilted by Joan and has the binding on, now for a hanging sleeve
Yesterday I went into Geelong to see an exhibition of Wool and Art quilts at the Wool Museum
It is a amazing old building

This was my favourite, the quilting was stunning

such wonderful detail in the background

This pledge was in a pocket on the quilt below
This was another favourite
Also on display
A wedding dress using lace table cloth and doilies
The coat on the right is made by a NZ born Korean man, made in Korean style
Dress on the left using batik traditions and on the right using Aboriginal weaving

And a bollard of the artist who made all the bollards around Eastern Beach in Geelong.
One last quilt, loved the colours and the tiny blocks
Happy stitching.

Catching up yet again

Time gets away on me, it does not help that I have been doing lots of reading! 😀

the flower and horse quilt and the ferret, horse, pig and dogs quilt have gone to their new home, photos to come.

the pelicans are still around down near the boat launching ramp

Shane came for an afternoon and we walked the dogs

another day recently I came across Adam and Beth when I was walking Hank, so we walked together
another Anthology block has been made
I saw and enjoyed this movie

and then  had lunch looking over the bay, the clouds were amazing

the last two days I hve been making blocks for the bookcase quilt which has been sadly neglected

a vase and flower

a messy photo but the quilt so far, I was busy sewing away last night and realised I had made a mistake and forgot to put in the brown for the shelf, so some unsewing needs to be done today.
The vest for Finn is coming along slowly, love this wool Raewyn gave me, just the arm bands to go and then sewing up.

This mess is another heap of knitted squares waiting to be made into a KOGO blanket - if I keep it in sight i.e. on the chair next to me, maybe it will get done!!

the two quilts promised earlier, it had taken me ages to find them on the phone.
That is enough for me for now
Happy stitching.

Nearly there I hope (photo heavy)

Blogger has decided to reverse these photos too, so we will travel backwards again today!

Tira in the garden

Tira hides from Hank in the garden, clumps of plant are her favourite

No one can see me here!! 😀

An interesting flower in the Botanic Gardens, in the hot house

Cute butterfly stone

Hoya with different leaves to mine

Christmas in the hot house

Great water lilies

Back in the bollards again

The big wheel at Eastern Beach
the bike group bollard

The Spirit of Tasmania heading out from Geelong, loved the contrast of the two boats

Heading for Eastern Beach

Life saver bollards

Seafaring adventurer

Interesting clouds

Local people bollards.
For the Adventure Labs I had to answer a question at each bollard, for example the child bollard was holding a birds nest and I had to count the number of eggs in it. I walked 4.5 km this day, my feet sure knew it! Once again David was at outpatients.

I rode my bike to Indented head one morning

the pelicans were waiting for food at the fish cleaning table

busy at the main beach

Looking form Indented Heads back to St Leonards

Main pier at St Leonards

a sailing boat near home

I stopped at Geelong on my way home from the airport for a wander, fresh air and to finish an Adventure Lab

The Geelong to the city ferry

What a peaceful way to spend the afternoon!!
Happy stitching.
