and the speakers for the day were Donna and myself, we did a presentation about our trip away and visit to Quilt Canada. It went over very well and several ladies came up afterwards and said they enjoyed the talk and thought the slide show was wonderful. Lovely to get feedback as I was a bit of a nervous wreck!! Donna was very calm and spoke well.
This week I am off on a retreat, three days of sewing!!

Lots to share

I can share the Aussie Hero quilt and laundry bag  I made for the Invictus Games as they have been presented now
Team side of the Laundry bag

Personal side

Invictus Games quilt, my recipient does cycling and swimming.

here he is, on the right after the presentation..happy smiles!

Here he is with Jan Maree, the Aussie Heros organiser and founder

This is the latest laundry bag I have made..but when I came to pack it in the box I realised I had put the wrong initials on it!!!

So some unsewing had to happen, it was sewed on never to come off let me tell you!!

All better, new label now on

and the bear quilt is quilted, thank you Joan, and bound and now in the box ready to go tomorrow. I am very happy with how it finished off.
we had a beautiful day last Monday, I had my car in for a service so spent some time here at the Geelong library, even though it was windy it was pleasant to be outside.

the Supervisor had a swim Tuesday morning

and Friday morning, I rode down to the PO, which was a silly idea as it was very windy, but I keep telling myself it has to be good for me!!
OK enough for now
Happy sewing

Happy happy me!

The Aussie Hero quilt top is together..yay!! 😆😆
Very happy with the results

All the bears paws looking like paws not fish!!

Supervisor has checked the quilt top 😆 I think it passed.

I have been doing some cutting for the next project.
I made this notice board months and months ago and it has been leaning up against the bookshelf, yesterday I got my act together and finished it and got it on the wall!! Took me all of 20 minutes, no idea why I had dallied for so long!!
Off into Geelong today, so had better get moving.
Happy sewing.

More frustration

Well yesterday I thought I had these bear paw blocks down pat, but the sneaky little bits keep moving around I am sure,
All those little half square triangles I sewed up last night..I thought I was so careful and half of them are wrong!! Unsewing was the order of the day.

Looking out the window, there is a change of weather coming.

Yep, rain and hail!! Happy to be inside sewing today,  well happy to be inside! ! 😆😆

Then this happened..I managed to get one piece around the wrong way

Then more were around the wrong way, but I am happy to say by 6.00pm, the two blocks were happily completed. I went to look for the other blocks and could not find then, I searched and searched and just abfew minutes ago found them in a cupboard!! The door was open and they just have slid of the ironing board and into the cupboard!! I think it is time I had a good tidy up.
Had better get some dinner sorted
Paws all done.

Frustrating but happy day

I have been working away at bears paw blocks today, there was quite a lot of unsewing and not proper checking, but I did get some great help from Fiona, and soon got on track
Started off ok but the half square triangles were too big....that got sorted thanks to Fiona

Lots and lots of half square triangles, trimmed to size now!!

Looking good

Block one finished

Block 2 finished

Block three finished...yay!! Three more to do, oh dear!!
More to come tomorrow.
Happy sewing.
