These are half and inch hexies and are for #4 on Doing the Rounds.
This afternoon I went into Geelong to see this movie,I remember the book well. I really enjoyed watching this..great movie.
Yesterday I started on a simple quilt, a panel, to go to a friend who is taking donations for a fundraising event later this month. The money is to go to a fund for 2 little children left behind after their mother was brutally murdered. So very sad. I hope this will bring someone happiness.
Sad to hear about the 2 little ones. What area did this happen.
ReplyDeleteCute hexies..... Glad you are able to help......
ReplyDeleteHow nice of you to make a quilt for such a worthy cause. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is a thoughtful contribution to helping the children Sue... what an unthinkably awful situation.
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the hexy's
Just about to get into hexies too, a bit bigger than yours though. Lovely quilt for a good cause. I just bought the "Guernsey" book; loved the movie.
ReplyDeleteLovely post Sue. Your hexies are very cute .... that quilt with the panels is really gorgeous, Love the foxes. Such a sad story behind it but lovely that you can do your bit to help out. Love the verse at the end too. Very appropriate.
ReplyDeleteA true saying...........tiny cute hexies, well done. The quilt looks lovely, I hope your raise plenty of money. Kiwi Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteThe fussy cutting on that vine fabric makes it look like a wonderful tree in the hexagons! Good progress to get those done. The quilt you're making is beautiful and will make someone happy, I guarantee it! A good way to raise money for those two little ones. I was just reading another blog about a similar situation. I don't know what has gone wrong with people. I know it isn't just now, as I've read these things always, and we know Cain killed his brother. Still it seems so senseless. I like your quote at the bottom. Christ charged us to love one another as ourselves, and as he loved us. This is a good thing to remember. Sometimes, I have trouble remembering that he died for people like the one who killed that mother, as well as for me.
ReplyDeleteI like your hexies especially the middle one. xx
ReplyDeleteThe tiny hexies are so cute....cute fussy cutting too :-) That's a really cute quilt panel too...how tragic that it is needed, I hope the fundraiser does well.
