Catching up yet again

Time gets away on me, it does not help that I have been doing lots of reading! 😀

the flower and horse quilt and the ferret, horse, pig and dogs quilt have gone to their new home, photos to come.

the pelicans are still around down near the boat launching ramp

Shane came for an afternoon and we walked the dogs

another day recently I came across Adam and Beth when I was walking Hank, so we walked together
another Anthology block has been made
I saw and enjoyed this movie

and then  had lunch looking over the bay, the clouds were amazing

the last two days I hve been making blocks for the bookcase quilt which has been sadly neglected

a vase and flower

a messy photo but the quilt so far, I was busy sewing away last night and realised I had made a mistake and forgot to put in the brown for the shelf, so some unsewing needs to be done today.
The vest for Finn is coming along slowly, love this wool Raewyn gave me, just the arm bands to go and then sewing up.

This mess is another heap of knitted squares waiting to be made into a KOGO blanket - if I keep it in sight i.e. on the chair next to me, maybe it will get done!!

the two quilts promised earlier, it had taken me ages to find them on the phone.
That is enough for me for now
Happy stitching.

Football avoidance can be productive

Yes, last night the AFL was on so I returned to the sewing room
this quilt top was finished yesterday afternoon, might still add a border

this one I started last night, takes 5 fat quarters, which I just happened to have in my stash, this one needs borders too as it is a bit small for the oncology quilts I am hoping the quilt will make.
The colours look so much better out in the sun.
I went for a bike ride this morning and managed 7.2 km..pretty good for me, no doubt my legs will let me know all about it tomorrow!!
down Bluff Rd, and along Ibbotson

down the main road and around the lagoon

lots of birds in residence today

back along the beach and home.
This afternoon I am off into Geelong to see this movie
Tea with the Dames

looks like fun.
Have a wonderful day.

Hexies

are on the go again...I went to sit and sew this morning and managed to get these five hexie groups together
These are half and inch hexies and are for #4 on Doing the Rounds.

This afternoon I went into Geelong to see this movie,I remember the book well. I really enjoyed watching this..great movie.

Yesterday I started on a simple quilt, a panel, to go to a friend who is taking donations for a fundraising event later this month. The money is to go to a fund for 2 little children left behind after their mother was brutally murdered. So very sad. I hope this will bring someone happiness.

FNWF results

Last night was the last FNWF for 2017. Many thanks to Cheryll for being a wonderful host.

I cut out some little stitcheries, their wadding and backing
some more circles are ready to be pinned in place

the binding is finished on one quilt, the other ready to go.

This morning I made some almond and walnut biscuits

some are a little over cooked but still taste good!
Yesterday I went to see the movie Goodbye Christopher Robin
I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was not what I was expecting, but a great movie all the same, gave me much food for thought.
I am off to do a little sewing before heading our for a BBQ lunch.
Happy sewing.

We

have been to the movies today, we saw Victoria and Abdul and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a laugh and a cry, got angry and sad, all  in all a good outing!!
We did some messages in Geelong and then got home in time for me to go to Port to have a cuppa with a friend. On the way home I had a wander along the beach to try and find a geocache.
it was very cloudy but no rain until I was on the way home thankfully.
Tonight is Friday Night with Friends,
it is a great opportunity to sew along with a virtual sewing group on  line, our hostess is Cheryll over at Gone Stitchin'. Still time to sign up and join in.
I am going to continue with the quilting on the Minions quilt and hopefully get it finished.
Might go and do some now.
Happy stitching.

Yesterday

I went along to catch up with the lovely ladies at the Port Arlington quilting group, not many there but some amazing show and tell
Linda's beautiful quilt with pansy flowers

this one was made with scraps...lots of 2 inch squares here...

another scrap 2 inch squares quilt

close up of the previous quilt..

a sea themed quilt Chris is making...

and the back..

a nine patch that has been cut and rearranged

and this one belongs to Judy, the ladies were explaining to us newbies how to make the blocks for these quilts...  in the afternoon I went into Geelong and did a little Christmas shopping, then went to see
what a great film, I laughed and cried....as did others in the audience!!!
Back home I made another of these
my collection is growing and I think I have the pattern under control now, although it never pays to be over confident!!
Happy sewing!
