October FNWF

Last night was our virtual sew along organised by the lovely Cheryll, over at her blog you can see what others created last night. Thank you for hosting Cheryll.
Here at my place I was home alone so the sewing started early in the afternoon and as I got involved in a Netflix series it continued well into the night.
The last 5 One Block Wednesday blocks! Yahoo!!!! Now starts the laying out and sewing together.

I had these bags cut out ready to go last night, four more fabric shopping bags.

During the afternoon I made up the backing for four quilt tops, lots of cutting, fitting bits together and sewing. Now I need to cut the wadding. These are donated quilt tops for the hospital.

I finished the Minions quilting and binding earlier in the week, last night I finished off all the endy bits from the quilting and

sewed on the label.(Blogger decided it needs to be sideways!) There is fleecy on the back which makes it beautifully soft, but not a good idea for binding as I was to find out. The edges are a bit lumpy but done and it is off to it's new home.

Oohhh this makes you feel a bit woozy!! An out of focus photo of the EPP edges for the Old Time Kaleidoscope block

and some secret sewing done close to midnight...was hard to keep the needle going by then I must admit.

Down at the beach this morning

the sun was shining, we even had little waves.

The Supervisor checking out who had been here before him! There have been several different dogs about as it is school holidays time and some dogs are here with their families and some dogs are here with their grandparents!

Beautiful day.

I love the little views you get through the plants.
I phoned the lady today to see how my quilt was coming along, somehow she had the wrong phone number on the invoice so was telling some stranger my quilt was ready!! Lucky I phoned, not that she would have given my quilt to anyone else!!

I was gong to get edge to edge quilting but when Judy started she decided that would not look right so she custom quilted it! How lucky am I!! My job tomorrow will be to trim and put on the binding and the hanging sleeve. Then it will be all ready for the exhibition at the end of the month. I will take more photo when she is all finished.
The temp has dropped about 5 degrees here, the rain is coming and I am off to get a jumper and slippers!
Happy stitching.

  5. Your Friday was very productive. How good to have made your last five blocks. I’m looking forward to seeing them come together. It didn’t take long to get Sisters quilted. Looking good. I hope some of your rain travels up our way. They are forecasting it to be a bit cooler on Wednesday.

YOur sisters looks great too and of course lovely walks at the beach.... we are about to have a few very hot days so I rather envy your need for slippers... I see you are getting all these @@@#$% spam comments too... I turned on notifications last night - first time I ever had but several spam a day is annoying...
