Mid week update

This week has been a lot of finishing up UFO's or things that have been hanging around.
I have been stitching away on a KOGO blanket, thinking I could deliver it to a localish pharmacy on Friday, but now with the return of the Metro Melbourne lock down KOGO has had to close up again. It is a shame as there is big demand for blankets and warm woolies at present.

I have had this quilt for over a year, she is embarrassed to say. I was given it to quilt and it has been in a corner of the sewing room, well I can happily say now it is done!

It was cold this morning but I had a good walk along the beach

into the sunshine

out onto the Yacht Club jetty
this dog was having a wonderful time wading through the water, he was scaring away any seagulls he got near to, his owners were on the beach following along.

It was a lovely day to be out and about

Good for fishing maybe?

After having a walk and before I got too distracted I made this weeks Anthology block, only a small amount of unsewing was required when I put one row on upside down!! This block is called Lanterns.

This afternoon I sandwiched a quilt out the front, the sun was warm but the wind was from the south and cold!

I have also started an Aussie hero quilt , the request is for Gallipoli, poppy, AFL, you can see the team and a Spitfire. I had this laid out and hubby came past and told me the top was too busy, I needed to unpick the flag fabric and put in a black strip to divide them up...guess what I am doing this evening??
I can smell dinner so I had better go check it before it burns!!
Happy stitching.

Love the crochet blanket. It's the sort of thing I do. So far only for grandchildren.
The quilts are amazing. How long does it take you to finish one?

  5. Thanks for taking me on your walk with you, it's something I should get back to doing, although no beach here to walk along! Thinking of you all over the border and hoping things will soon improve.

  6. Hiya Sue. Just playing catch up on all your posts after being down at Mums for 5 days. You keep so busy Sue & achieve lots. I was so sorry to read that your area had gone into lockdown again but maybe its the wake up call that folk needed that were carrying on as if nothing was wrong. The same will happen here if they don't get a handle on the border control. I love the KOGO blanket Sue. Hope your week is going well - looks like you have had good weather. xx

  10. I particularly love that flower quilt. So pretty. Great idea putting crocheted blocks with knitted blocks, it works well. You are so productive! Here's me trying to finish quilts so slowly lol.

  16. Well done on all the charity work you do Sue - it gives you a great variety of projects to work on. It looked like a lovely day for a walk - I hope the weekend is just as clear. Is the Aussie hero quilt a panel or have you been really busy with some applique?

  17. At least you are getting things done.
Where did you get the centre panel from.

  21. I guess it really is winter, but it looked lovely out on the beach. I'm not sure I agree with your DH, but he's seeing it in person and I'm not. I imagine you are finished with it by now!
