Nothing better than a pile of quilted quilts on the back of the couch, not sure hubby would agree though!! 😃
I spent some time while it was sunny out on the front deck
and have sandwiched two quilts
This weeks Anthology block is done, this one is Beehive, no surprise there! It was a bit fiddly but worth the effort.
Ingrid sent me a bag of goodies and inside was a pattern, some iron on hexies, some black linen and a pack of mini charm squares. I ironed the hexies onto the mini charms
and while sitting by the tv glued the sides down. They are now awaiting more attention.
The Quilt Shop in Eltham had a sale, so I got this pack of half meter pieces for a new project, so far I am resisting starting!
They also included this lovely postcard pincushion pattern.
The quilt made by Wendy at the Guild is finished
as it this one made by Wendy
Also this one, blocks made by Tania, is finished, I tried out some in the ditch quilting on this one and it mostly went where I wanted it to go.
The crochet is slowly progressing, I am nearly out of wool, so this might have to sit for a while until I can get some more. Still has the wobbly edges, hopefully it will settle down.
This is my first attempt at the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler block, I thought the corner triangles were cut too small, but carried on...duh!! I went back and read the instructions, again, and realised I had cut the square into 4 instead of two as the pattern said! Oh dear!!So some unsewing happened, more cutting of triangles
and yay, this one works! Well nearly it is slightly small, some fudging might be required later on.
I am very happy blogger has worked today, maybe it had a headache yesterday, who knows!
Have a wonderful weekend, keep safe and
and Happy stitching.
Glad it worked for you this time, very productive week for you, and do love your sale purchases and look forward to what they will become.

Oh I do like those low volume fabrics you purchased..
Well done getting all those quilts done. The hexie project looks interesting. How annoying about that block - looks great though now it is finished. xx
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have a pile of "lovelies" on the back of the couch. Looking forward to seeing your new project.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful pile of quilts. Great finishes. Love your hexies. Lol that block, we all have those days...well I do,waay too many really. Did you try using a smaller hook for that border? May prevent it going wonky or perhaps you have done too many stitches? Just a thought.
ReplyDeletewhat a lot is happening there... some lovely quilts to play with. I love your new fabrics you have to play with... looking forward to seeing that as well as your hexie project....
ReplyDeleteI had trouble with a few of the Sylvia blocks ... so many little pieces do make it a challenge...

ReplyDeleteI love seeing the quilts on the back of your couch. I like your feature wall color as well!
ReplyDeleteYou sandwiched two quilts in a day? That is amazing! You are really moving along. Do you thread baste or pin baste?
Your hexi fabrics are yummy in grey!
I’ve finally had a chance to catch up, on reading your blog. You’ve been really busy with all your quilts. It was great to catch up, if only briefly, in the Zoom get together last week. Hopefully there will be another before too long. I hope the latest COVID restrictions aren’t too onerous for you. Fingers crossed everything settles down again before too long. I enjoyed seeing what everyone got up to on your retreat some beautiful work, and as you said, the scrap quilt was stunning. You were luck with your timing.
ReplyDeleteOh my you have got some beauties there and a few bindings to do a well by the looks. I love the colours in the Bridal sampler blocks. I thought I read once that in the early days a girl looking to be a bride had to complete 13- 15 quilts, apparently it proved what a good wife she would make. HA HA !
ReplyDeleteSo busy with all those quilts Sue - your group has got a really good team thing going there, getting through them. Oh yes, been there too, cutting those corner triangles wrong, but I do love your finished block!
ReplyDeleteOh and that beehive is too cute!
