Today

has been another beautiful spring day, I have had a walk, sat out on the back deck and read a book, listened and smelt the grass being cut - that is the smell of summer to me, fresh cut grass. Probably more spring here and summer in NZ as it gets much hotter here.

Monday I had to go to the chemist so asked hubby to take me there, he was going that way anyway, and then I walked home, it was a windy day, luckily the wind was behind me heading home.

I found St Leonard's Spoonville, I hadn't heard of this before so had to come home and look it up, it is a great idea, but I am not rushing back with a spoon!!

the last two weeks Sylvia's Bridal Sampler blocks, I realised when I went to put the orange on on the left away that I had already made that block, but had forgotten to tick it off in the book! Mmmmm...it has now gone in a folder of orphans, but might come back out to make up numbers later on!

Tuesday I went into Geelong to the SJOG hospital for an iron infusion, so took the opportunity to deliver 15 quilts, this was the view out of the window

I thought I was going outside into dull and maybe wet weather but it was sunny and quite pleasant. I met two ladies who had been given quilts, they were both so happy.

On my way outof Geelong I stopped at Eastern Beach for a short walk, thru the park,

past the fountain, along the waterfront, up the hill and back to the car! It was lovely to get some (masked) fresh air.

Late yesterday afternoon a few more flying geese joined the family

the Kevins and Kathleen are all together in a quilt top.  The blocks are all quilted before you add the Kevin Koala so now I need to add strips of wadding along the sashings and border. That was supposed to happen today but I sat outside and read a book in the sun,

then came in and made this block for Sylvia's Bridal sampler for this week. This one nearly did my head in, joining the rows together should have been simple, I had them all marked, but I got the top and bottom rows the wrong way and it took me a while to work out what I had done. Thank goodness I hadn't sewn them on!! Next week I might attempt Wedding Ring 2. Maybe!!

I had an email in the week saying Big W had a book sale on, so guess who got sucked in and ordered books, they arrived today. I have some reading to do!!
I had better go and get the washing in before the sun goes completely and the mossies attack me at the clothes line.
Happy stitching.

Friday already

This week has flown past, I was up in Gisborne Wednesday for hairdressing and also took a friend up to see some of her friends...they have known each other for 30 years so enjoyed a good catch up.
Yesterday I had some happy mail
Unfortunately blogger has decided to put it sideways, but they are 5 minute and 10 minute blocks I am going to have a go at making.
Also in the latest Down Under quilts magazing there is an article about the last Guild Quilt In
It is great to see the article, lots of names I know on the hexie quilt, but also my rotation block, #16 at the top of the page, pretty exciting for me!! Lol!!
I have been painting the Christmas swap blocks
Two to finish off and then the quilting begins.
The past President of the guild asked the committee to make her a block for a quilt to remember her years as President, the theme was the poem I love a Sunburnt Country
Again this is sideways I am sorry, I have painted and quilted the block, I hope Margaret likes it.
The dolls coverlet and the doorway are completed and ready to go to Guild tomorrow.
I had better get organised and take the supervisor for a walk, the whinging is getting louder!!
Happy sewing.

Happy delivery

I am so lucky having the friends I do - very lucky!! Last Saturday the lovely Tracee sent me some flowers as a congratulations on my retirement. There were a few hiccups with the delivery, firstly the wrong number was on the delivery card so the flowers went to a neighbour down the road. That neighbour Di, probably came here to see me, (I haven't caught up with her yet,) then she returned the flowers to the florist - we had gone to the beach for the weekend, so were not home to take the delivery anyway! The florist rang every day until we got home and then with in half an hour of me ringing them to say we were home a new arrangement of flowers were delivered! How good is that!! There are some very nice people n the world!!

Aren't they beautiful?? Thank you so much Tracee! I feel very special!!

I also had a parcel to pick up from the PO yesterday - I spent a good hour by the fire last night browsing!!
Life is GOOD!!!
I am blessed to know many of the above!
Have a great day!
