 Last night was Friday night with friends,  a virtual sew along hosted by Cheryll, you can also check on her blog and see what the other Friday nighter's created.

I made a cross body bag I had already cut the pieces for , no pattern just making it up as I went along, there are a couple of things I would change if I did this again, but I am very happy with it.

Then I started on a zippy bag kit Ingrid gave to me, it has lovely linen pieces in it. Next thing to do is a lot of hand stitching. Project for tonight as the football is on again tonight.

Stitching away

Yesterday I signed up to do another Aussie hero quilt, the request was for deer hunting, German wire haired pointers and the roman numeral 3. This is how far I got yesterday

lots to do but off to a good start, I found the deer panel last time I was in NZ. The dog pictures are courtesy of Mr Google.

I can not remember where I found this fabric but had it earmarked for a zipper pouch, the front and back are quilted, ready to go.

Last year I watched a lot of people participating in the 365 Days of Circles, where you were to do one circle a day...I resisted until now when I found a pack 5 inch of batiks and thought well why not. I am not going to be strict about doing one a day, but it will be another hand stitching project.I will work on it when I feel like it.

I have also signed up for a BOM for next year over at Shiralee Stitches. I have had this pattern, a first by Susan at Thimble Stitch. I have  had the pattern for several months now, so have decided a BOM will motivate me to actually make it! That is the theory anyhow!!

Beautiful day

Isn't it a beautiful day today??? So nice to see the sun shining and blue sky and no showers coming in from the west!!

back garden looking reasonable.....still some weeding to do...but I am slowly getting there....

and yesterday I made a zipped bag!! Woo hoo!! I am pleased with myself!!  You know how you seem to have lots of cords these days for the phone, the camera, the tablet,the kindle....well I seem to be gathering them Lol!!  Anyway I decided it would be easier to keep them all in one place and a fabric bag would last longer that a plastic one, and would look much nicer. I found a tutorial on the computer and sat  down to do it last night.  Apart from a hiccup getting around the end of the zip it went together really well....even managed to get the fabric around the right way!! Lol!!  Only had to do a little hand stitching  to close up the gaps.

Love the blue inside.......oh I am chuffed with this....big smile on face!! Right oh I am off to sew something!!
