Wandering about

Today I had to go into Geelong so thought I would have  a wander at Easten beach and look at a few of the bollards again
Miss Geelong bollards, two of the four, two have had graffiti scrawled on them,, so sad to see.

Looking along Eastern Beach

Miss Geelong 1937, very glamorous!!

Ulysses Motor cycle club member, front

back.

Picnic lunch for the car enthusiasts.

Life saving club members

Dad and helper! Or brother and annoying little sister!!

Heading back to the car, lovely to be seeing some sunshine.

Yesterday two more Sisters joined the family, this time with Canadian fabric from Donna.

And today I picked up the Circle quilt from Joan, of Faraway Quilting she has done an amazing job with the quilting. This quilt will go to the Oncology ward at the St John of God Hospital in Geelong.
The backing is a flannel sheet, so the quilt is beautifully soft.
I am linking up with Soma at Whims and Fancies for her Wandering Camera post.

Time to sort some dinner.
Happy days.

  1. How lovely to be near a beach, and I love those fantastic figures. How sad that people have defaced them with graffiti, it's the same here. Some mindless idiots just show no respect. Your new 'sisters' are fabulous, and I love the circle quilt, what a treasure, and I hope it will be a big comfort for those sick people. Have a wonderful day, hugs, Valerie

  5. Never heard of a bollard before! Your new sisters are wonderful! You did get some Canada fabric. Too bad your other friend in Canada didn’t have any to send you ~wink~. Love the circle quilt. It came out so nice and will bring much comfort to a special person at the hospital. You’re so sweet!

  7. Thank you for bringing back memories of our visit to Geelong. We've only visited once, and that was for Ulysses Rally, when the bollard of "Ol' No 1" was unveiled. we camped at the racecourse, with a few thousand others. We spent a lovely afternoon viewing all the bollards, the pier and surrounding parkland.
You should be so pleased with how your quilt turned out and it will be much appreciated by its users.
Your sisters are going to be a veritable league of nations. I can't wait to see them come together. How many do you think you will make?
