Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge

I joined in a zoom yesterday organised by  Chooky, and decided to join in this challenge organised by Chooky and Deana, each month Deana is going to choose a number between 1 and 10 and that is the project we work on for that month.
My list will be
1. Guild mystery Quilt, as I need to catch up on Month 1 and 2. I am behind already!!
I might have to work on this a little each month to keep up.
2. Oncology quilts - I have been given several unfinished quilts, they need to be finished and quilted and bound before they can be delivered, so this is a time to get one/some done.
this heap on the bed will be 6 quilts once I get them done.
3. is EPP month, several other people are making EPP this month, I am wanting to do more on the Tea and Cake quilt, maybe even head towards a finish - maybe that is too ambitious, but worth a try!

this poor top has been scrunched in a bag for months and not seen the light of day.
4. Is a panel quilt, several people have chosen to do something with a panel for this one, mine is a panel of Flinders Street Station I have had for ages and ages!! Will be good to get it done.
5. This will be some slow stitching for me, a kit I have had for 3 years I think, bought at the Guild exhibition or Quilt In
If I get this done then I will do some stitching on Anthology as well. I need to make some filler blocks and do the sashing.
6. This is the time to make last years Scrub Stitching bag
7. I am hoping to finish the Daylesford quilt I started months ago
I am a bit concerned this one will not sit flat so will have to press it and see how it goes before adding more borders.
8. Another time to work on the Oncology quilts.
9. Make up the Winding Ways quilt - it will be good to make it up instead of putting it on a shelf and thinking one day I will do that!
10. Make Finns Christmas stocking - it didn't happen this year

I realise the numbers will be random and my putting the Guild challenge at the top of the list doesn't mean I get to work on it in Jan, but maybe I can fit it in somewhere along the way.
I haven't' done anything like this before so will be interesting to see how this all goes.
We are off to the beach for a swim now
Happy New Year and very happy stitching.

Christmas 2023

The big day has come and gone, we had Shane and Rilla staying here, we had Xmas lunch here and dessert at Adam and Beth's place, to fit around Finns sleeping times.
This will be a photo hefty post.
Shane and Rilla down the beach with Hank and Tira
Finn Xmas morning in /behind the Santa Sack I made him.
With Grandad
With Christmas presents
Beth, Finn  David
Finn met Miffy the rag doll cat
Finn played with Uncle Shane
And showed us his new Thomas ride
Played with his Dad
Miffy seemed to settle here really well for a few days, she was fascinated with the outdoors and the birds she could see.
more train rides.
The house is now quiet and the tree is away for another year. I am off to collect Hank and Tira for a walk. We had planned to visit David's sister but there is flu in the family so we are staying home!
I hope to do some sewing later today.
Happy stitching.

Mosaic class

The class has finished for this year, we resume on Feb.
Mine is not finished,  I can only do a small section and then have to wait for the glue to dry.
We had lunch over at the fish and chip shop at Queenscliff to celebrate David's birthday
There go my sunglasses into the mouth!!
Beth, Finn and Adam
cute hat and overalls on Finn
We did part of an Adventure Lab on the way home, it was about surf life saving clubs, so we had to go to the beach  it was a beautiful day
The young surf club members were out practising
These beaches were at Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale, so good being near the waves.
Last Saturday was returning Reverse Advent boxes day, the church that was giving out and collecting boxes gave out 700 boxes and got 661 back in, they said that represented $55000 in food!!
I pinched a photo from their fb page.
Then it was the Guild Christmas meeting
I forgot my phone so was sent this photo from a Bellarine Quilter friend. Our table was very festive but we didn't win best decorated table.
Monday we got the ferry from Queenscliff to Sorrento and went to the Sorrento pub for lunch, the food was good but very expensive, next year we will find somewhere else.
Docking at Sorrento
Was a good day, although tiring for the hubby.
I have been doing some sewing  I made a bag and sent it off and forgot to take a photo 🙄 i have made two backings for quilts and hope to get one sandwiched tomorrow.
I am off to think about something for dinner
Happy stitching.

my tea towel challenge, double sides table cloth for the out door table  it will not blow off, it weighs a ton!!
The winner of the challenge was Jenny
Who also made a table cloth with her tea towel as the centre piece
Pat was second with her beautifully felted and embroidered tea towel. It was a wonderful fun filled day to end the year.
