Gifts and swaps from Baradine

I received this lovely appliqued bag for shoes,  plus pins and soap from Leah in the Maje It, Fake it or Bake it swap we have each year.
this beautiful machine embroidered hand towel was from Janine our cook for this year,  they were made for the International girls and I happened to be near when I heard there were some left over and free to a good home!
this charm pack was from a lucky number call
Brenda made these great Aussie bookmarks, thank you for letting me know Susan.
Pat gave several.of us these cleaners to use under the bobbin of your machine, very clever idea and simple really, a pipe cleaner and a plastic straw, it bends and cleans where you want it.
Chooky gave us all a bag containing a Scrub Stitching shopping bag with Scrub Stitching on one side and everyone's names on the other, a lovely kit, a pinchushion made by Jo and fridge magnets made by Sylvia. I also have a coffee mug with red gum blossoms on it, it is in the dish washer. Pretty spoilt I think.
Happy stitching.

Tiki tour last day

Today Raewyn and I left Nathalia and headed for Rochester, we passed farms of all different types,  sheep, cows, rocky and flat paddocks
then we came to Rochester
the platypus, this Silo was stunning and so life like
painted by the same painter of yesterdays Silo
then around the other side a sugar glider and kingfisher
these are a real tourist attraction
thus amazing old pub was in the main street of Rochester, there was even a small Dvate painting in the children's playground, I didn't get a photo sadly.
interesting clouds as we were driving along
The last Silo was in Colbinabbin
the sun was out and seemed to be right where you wanted to take a photo
this Silo area had lots of information boards about the town history, the fund-raising for the Silo painting and how it all happened, it was interesting to read.

and so our Silo tour came to an end.
We headed back to Melbourne and found  Raewyns hotel at the airport and as it was mid afternoon and I had tested positive to covid I headed home.
Now I am in isolation at home until I test negative. Such is life!
While I was away 5 penpal letters arrived so I have plenty to keep me busy replying to them Also want to thank those people.who have commented on my blog lately , for some reason comments are not coming to my emails, so I can't answer individuals, I will try and figure out what has happened.
Happy stitching

Tiki Tour continued

Today's adventure started with us having another look at the Murrumburrah Silo in the sunlight
both sides have trees growing in the way of photos but if a viewing platform goes in, hopefully the view will be clear again.
We then had a  four and a half hour drive through the country side to Picola to the next Silo. We drove through lots of different country side on the way
my taking photos from the car needs improvement, I was aiming for the view 😁
We stopped for lunch at Lake Mulwala, which we found by chance,  there were hundreds of corellas there all over the place. One resident did come out and make a noise to scare them away  but they returned quite quickly.
a tree full of the birds

it was beautiful sitting  by the lake, a few boats were out and about
a tourist out with her camera!!
On to Picola
the painting was beautiful
the detail was amazing
Still trying the selfie  🤳 🤪
The sign near the Silo said there was a fishing hook hidden in the Silo painting, we found it after a short search.  It was hanging from the central gum tree on the left hand side.
We noticed a sign that said we could buy a mug or stubbie holder at the pub,  so we went to investigate and of course bought a coffee mug each. They are a fundraiser to raise money to paint the other side of the Silo. One of the locals at the bar (there two) said I could support the locals by buying them  a beer, so I did! We had a laugh and then  drove on ( only one u turn required) to Nathalia where we are staying tonight.
More adventures tomorrow.

Tiki tour

Today we had a huge driving day, managed wonderfully well by Raewyn, I am full of a cold so am not much use for anything.
church in Mudge, we stopped here for cough syrup and panadol and petrol.
On we then went to Portland
There weren't any info boards here so we didn't know who was on the Silo.
From here we continued on to Grenfell
Silos at Grenfell
And some more 😁
the autumn colours are starting to come, we then headed for Murrumburrah to see the Silo
the painting on the Silo is getting hidden by a hedge, the property had notices up all around saying private property, apparently soon there will be parking and a viewing platform.
an old building in Murrumburra
this statue is of Bill the Bastard.  We were told it was next to impossible to ride him, but he went to the front and carried back 5 people.
Some information about him, you can also go and see the original Bill he is the the sculptors building now not far from the statue.
Now we are tucked up in the motel at Harden, feels like there could be a frost tonight!! More tomorrow.
Happy stitching.
