Part of the Woollen Mills
This was the Cafe at the tram stop.
Waiting for the tram
We got off at the Chinese Joss house, sadly it was closed so we could not go in, a photo over the fence has to do and no stamp for the Australian Adventure Passport.
Inside the tram
We got off at the city centre and had a wander along the main street
Lots of beautiful old buildings here and parks too.
We went to the art gallery after having a cuppa and a piece of gf slice
There was an exhibition of work, photos, letters and bathroom contents belonging to Frida Kahlo, it was an amazing experience. We spent several hours walking around reading and looking.
Frida's sewing kit and a doll she made
Reproductions of photos taken of Frida
Her clothes
It was amazing that these things were locked away for many years. The clothes were beautiful, lots of embroidery and embellishment made with Chinese fabrics purchased at the market. (I think in San Francisco).
In another part of the gallery we saw some modern works and clothes
I think that is enough from me today.
Happy stitching.
What a fun day - so many interesting things to see!
