FNWF

Not a huge lot of sewing was done last night, I did get the second quilt sandwiched

my assistant was smelling the roses
I did a little hand sewing while watching a Jackie Chan movie last night
Yes quarter inch hexies - I had a mad moment - I m making a small project so it isn't too much sewing, I need to cover more papers, maybe tonight.
This morning I went for a walk with the dogs and Mary a quilting friend, Mary lives at Indented Head just along the coast from us and a friend of hers lives closer to Portarlington. So we decided to see if we and the dogs could walk the distance. Tira wanted a swim on the way

Looking back from where we had come. We did make the distance and had a cuppa with Mary's friend, we walked 7.46kmaccording to my phone and blew my steps quota out of the water for the day.
I am off, I hear a dog whining at the back door, no doubt she wants to come back in!
Happy stitching.

Some finishes

Jenny and I were very happy to deliver 5 knitted blankets to the chemist in Drysdale on Monday, ready for delivery to KOGO.
One wasn't recorded but looked amazing!
The rest of Monday was passed by going to Quilt group,  supermarket shopping and wholefood shopping. We came home fir a rest after that!! 😊
Tuesday afternoon we had a walk along the beach at Indented Head
The old paddle steamer wreck looked high and dry
A few pelicans were about
It is a lovely place for a walk
We had a wonderful brunch before walking
Today we have had a second visit to the Christmas shop
There were so many things to look at, a few goodies came home with us 😁
One afternoon last week I made a fiddle rug for Finn, Beth had said he loved zips
On dog fabric, with zips and things to chew and crunch and fiddle with
Finn is very happy with it
David has had a long weekend to Adelaide, he went over on the Overland train and said he was very well looked after. He flew back today, the plane was late leaving so he was an hour later getting to Geelong, but we happily filled the time at the shopping centre. We have had a hot day today  and this afternoon a storm is coming, feels like the tropics not Victoria !
Happy stitching.

Some sewing

Yes some sewing has been happening in between grand mother duties and reading, a bit of walking and bike riding.

Stitching is progressing on the Thought Bubbles Quilt

Blogger decided this one had to be side on!! I am getting borders on as blocks are finished.

One block to go and they will all be finished and can be joined into a little quilt.

I have been slowly stitching away at Tea and Cake, still a way to go, but I am slowly getting there.

A little flannel blanket for Finn

This was a mini quilt I made for Ingrid for last Christmas

and here is Finn, this photo is from 2 days ago.
I had a bike ride last week to Indented Head, the weather was beautiful. Indented Head is the lump of land you can see in the distance. I did 11.8km that day, thank goodness for an e bike, or I would have been exhausted.

The beach on the way home.
Last week we went up to Ballarat as David had  neuro appointment, we stayed the night before at Lake Burrumbeet.

This photo is from the way home, we stopped in Buninyong to do an Adventure Lab and to get lunch, this bike and the one below were at the RSL

These poppies were made of metal I think.

The view from our cabin at lake Burrumbeet, the busiest we have ever seen it. The lake is full as was the camp ground.

the sun starting to go down

a  little further

and gone

Saturday I joined in (late) with Chooky and Co for a zoom and stitch session, it was a smaller group by the time I joined, but it was great to see and hear everyone.

Thought I could sneak in another one!!

This is an out of focus photo  but this is the last Aussie Hero quilt I made, the request was for the ships crests, map of the world and food. Fingers crossed he likes it!!
I am off to get some dinner
Happy stitching.

Here I am catching up again

I can't believe we are half way through January already. Time is zooming by.

Jenny came over from NZ to spend Christmas with us, she flew over from Auckland and had to wait in Tullamarine airport 2 hours for the luggage to be unloaded from the plane. Even though they landed first it seemed the Qantas plane that came in later got priority. There was a plane load of very angry passengers at the airport. jenny then got the Gull Bus to Geelong where I picked her up. That was in 10 minutes early!!

We have had a lovely few weeks of chatting, catching up, cups of tea, Jenny has been knitting, I have done a little sewing, we have had some walks along the beach and visited friends.

David had an outpatients appt at the Geelong hospital so Jenny and I went for a walk looking for Adventure Labs (part of geocaching) along the Geelong foreshore.

Rest time - the couch is carved out of limestone!

Jenny decorated out Christmas tree

the designer at work!

Evening beverage! A new and different rum for Jenny and Sloe Gin for me, which was much enjoyed.

Jenny collecting bunnies ears - a childhood memory for us both.

Working on our selfie skills - they need more work!!

These photos are all taken at Indented Head while on our walk.

That is probably more than enough for one post!
More to come
Happy stitching.
