Phew!!!

It is hot in the sewing room today...no breeze is getting in there so I am giving up for the day and going to the beach.  Last night I made a little wall hanging
it is from a book called Scandinavian Style by Trine Bakke. She has some little wall hangings or waste not wall art as she calls them and they use up odd bits and pieces of fabric...I decided to try a Christmas one with Barb Smith buttons. it is a little bigger than in the book, but they were the strips I had left over. Just needs the opening hand sewn now.
I also had a go at another hexie block but decided to sew it on the machine
quite happy with this one....not quite so loud!!! Now I need to decide on a backing fabric and get the blocks finished.  More to do next month!!
Today I have prepped another hexagon block ready for sewing
I am trying to incorporate some Kiwi fabrics in this project that have been sitting in the stash for a while. Well I had better go and make the bed, I washed the sheets today so had better fix it up, nothing worse than going to bed at 10pm and finding the bed unmade!!! Then off to the beach.
Happy sewing.

Happy days...

...sadly no sewing has happened today ...well not yet and as it is after 6pm maybe none will happen, but yesterday I finished the quilting on the  Xmas table runner and the Blanket of Love...

I went to the first meet up of the Seachange quilters yesterday and had a great morning chatting and sewing, on the way home I stopped at Ocean Grove  (along with hundreds of other people!!!) and had a walk along the beach...it was so nice to get out and not be in the howling wind we have had for the last few days
Wonderful just wandering along..

I walked away from the main beach to get away from all the people!!
Today I took the supervisor to get a bath...he was not impressed, I had to bribe him with cheese to get into the bath and then just about body slam him when he tried to jump out!!! Luckily he was on a short (but not short enough) chain!!! More cheese helped him to settle although he sat down and refused to move so the back of his legs didn't get a proper wash!! (Gives you an idea of who is in charge here!!! Lol!!
What are you doing to me!!!!
Now our house smells a bit like wet sheep!!!! Tupai keeps running away from the towel to dry him!!
I have been searching my fabric stash for some fabric with people snowboarding on it...I know I have some but can't find it!!! So frustrating!!! So I am off to empty some drawers and do a search (again!!)
Happy days!

Today...

....I have been a busy bunny, a little more settled but still jumping a bit from one project to another.....haven't tamed that rabbit just yet Marina!!! Lol!!
I did this stitchery last year, so finally got it into a frame, glued on a felt backing, put on a hanging string and finished!!! Don't know why I delayed so long!!!

I got another Blanket of Love together today,  now it needs some qulting..

another simple Christmas table runner...I found this fabric in NZ last year, love the snowmen......still working on the quilting...

before Christmas I had a play with with a twisted 4 patch...I think that is what it is called....today I added a border and quilted it....I had a couple of problems with the quilting, got two little tucks, but they are not too bad...next is to do the binding.
Busy, busy!!!
Happy sewing.
PS have been looking through a magazing and found the 4 patch block..is disappearing  not twisted!!!

Update for yesterday

No prizes for guessing what is still happening here....
This was my job for this morning but as I lazed in bed and finished my book....honestly I just could not put it down and I was so close to the end.......I ended up doing this  in the afternoon......not the best
on a 30 deg C day!! It took me 3 hours but now we have sparkly blinds......which seems silly to me as they are pulled right up and hidden behind the curtains.....but anyway I know they are clean!!
Later in the evening I managed to get this stitchery on a cake board....
Some of the edges could be a bit tighter looking at the photo but I am happy with it, I need to get some felt today for the backing..
Last night I made this Christmas table cloth, good fabric for sending overseas I thought.
Off to do other chores now
happy sewing.

Happy Mail

I did a little dance of happiness this morning when the patterns I had ordered from Michelle Ridgeway arrived. Now I can stitch some bears!!
Beautiful designs.
I manages to start some sewing today after rummaging in storage boxes......just a very basic table runner....got it all sorted, sewed it together, trimmed the edges......WAAAAAAAAAAAA! I had the fabric the wrong way around! ! Great hairy crocopiggies!!!!!!! So out came the unpick.....
and I started all over again....I am pleased to say I managed to get it right the second time and now it just needs some hand sewing in the turn it out section.

For some reason blogger has decided to turn this photo around so the kookaburras look like they are standing on their heads....I promise I did not take it that way...
Couple more projects on the go....yes I am now working on the floor now that the table has gone, but have to pack up tonight to keep the place tidy!!
Happy sewing.
