Last One

The last KOGO rug has been finished and delivered
At the Bellarine Quilters we have made hearts to go in a card to let a group member know we are thinking of them if they are unwell or something happens to a family member. Jenny was super keen about this idea, so after a lesson on what to do and how to do it she made these
Very good for a first time I think. They have now been delivered to the group and Jenny has taken some home to work on there.
I spent some time in Geelong doing an Adventure Lab finding street art all done by women painters
I hadn't seen these before so was interesting to see some different art.

The Zygo cactus is in full flower and looks amazing
I had a walk with Beth and Finn in the week
On the way we watched a man feeding the pelicans
Finn was enjoying the sunshine
I have been working on the tea towel challenge - which has become bigger than Ben Hur!!
I am currently wrestling with it at the machine
Today I had to go to Ocean Grove for an appointment so went to have a look at the ocean
the wind was cool- there were a few brave souls in the water.
I am off to do some more wrestling
Happy stitching. 😊

A visit, a birthday, a finish.

The galahs were busy at the bird box n the weekend, I notice they have made holes in the bottom of the box now.
On Sunday hubby and I went over tot he nature reserve in Ocean Grove to have a walk and look for caches

We saw several grass trees

Wallabies in the trees. this one was eating the leaves from a small gum tree

that furry lump is another wallaby

this one was keeping an eye on us

we saw this plant on the edge of the path, I was surprised to see this as I think it is an insect eating plant and I thought they needed a lot of water to grow, maybe it has taken off since we have had rain. We found all the caches we were looking for too, bonus!!

One little hibiscus plant in the garden had a flower bigger than the plant!

These lovely ladies came for lunch yesterday and brought lunch with them! It was Ingrid's birthday and Kim was visiting from Tassie. Jill came over too but I didn't think to get a photo early enough.

The clamshells are finished and made into a journal cover for Ingrid.

I was very happy I got it finished in time and managed to surprise Ingrid.

I also made Ingrid and Kim a mug carrier each, there was lots of secret sewing happening over the weekend!

Yesterday late afternoon we had a heavy rain shower, the galahs seemed to enjoy the rain and I enjoyed seeing the rainbow!

A  but fuzzy but the colours looked so good in the late afternoon sun.
I have sewing group at St Leonards this morning so I had better get my skates on!
Have a great day.

Friday

Hubby and I had a day out to Meredith. We had been here, by accident about 9 months ago, when were actually going somewhere else but took the wrong road. (Commonly known as a tiki tour in this house!!) We had a comfort stop in Meredith, I then realised there were geocaches in ate vicinity, we found one and then vowed to come back.
Our search for a geocache took us along the Ibis walk...we didn't see one Ibis, but they must be here somewhere!

to the Ibis picnic hut where we found a cache, along the creek searching for another one we finally found in a fence post,

love this old church, we did find another two caches , one which had me scrambling down a hill, thru long grass (while stamping feet) and up a rock strewn small hill, very happy I found the cache but it was a scramble for this old girl!!

This afternoon I had to deliver Guild things to Ocean Grove, so took the opportunity for a walk along the beach, how good would it be in that paraglider (?), imagine the view from up there.

Jonathon was in on the beach

Looking along the beach to Point Lonsdale, I was wandering along and then,

this guy appeared from the sand dunes

I am sure it is not, but he made the flying about look very easy! I wonder how often he ends up in the ocean??

The lion block is nearly finished, just the pink cheeks and bird to do, plus the lion needs a mouth.

Yesterday I made a dog quilt for Hank, son #1 and partners dog, very simple. Hank likes to sit on the quilt I made for Adam, failing that he squeezes onto the one I made for Victor the cat!! Time he had his own I think.
I am off to the sewing room as the footie is on, time for a dvd and some sewing I think.
Happy stitching.

Wandering me

Yesterday was the day to link up with Soma at Whims and Fancies for Wandering Camera
I had to go over to Drysdale this morning and while I was out decided to drive on to Ocean Grove and get a breath of ocean air.
the tide was out

which is really good for walking

and taking the dog for a walk...love a good zoom lens!

a few tidal pools remained

the waves rolled in

someone left their gumboots behind at the beach

someone was waiting for a feed.
Two Aussie Hero quilts went in the mail yesterday
this request was for books and reading

this one the flag, remembrance, poppies, army and names...covered it all!
Christmas has made an appearance in our house...in a small way

tree is up, it has been lovely seeing the hand made decorations I have been given over the last few years. Brings back lots of good memories.
I am off outside to enjoy a little sunshine and read a book while I can.
