Wednesday wanderings

I have been doing a little sewing the last few days and getting my self sorted......that means tidying...not my favourite word, but at some stage I need to put things away and clear the decks....

I have been free range quilting on the table runner....

I love this fabric from Samoa....got a way to go yet.....

guess who is outside contemplating...Lol!!

not so sunny today kind of misty and foggy..I think there is low cloud blowing through..

I did manage to get a little shopping bag finished to take to the UK for a friend, she likes blue and flowers, so hopefully this will be ok.  I am off to do some more free range quilting.....

Saturday

Hasn't it been a beautiful day today???

The the supervisor has been resting........he did have a big walk this morning....just saying!!

I have nearly finished a puffer jacket for the tablet, just need to hand sew down the binding....it was just a case to keep it safe, but I put in two layers of wadding and now it is a puffer jacket!! Lol!!

DH has been out on the mower this morning...buzzing around scaring the local bunnies....the smell of fresh mown grass on a sunny day is so good....one of those smells I associate with spring and summer...

Lovely blue sky out there today...

and my secret sewing is nearly completed...can't show you the front 'cos it is a secret for now!! But I have had the sewing bug today!!

Reporting in

I have been a bit absent this week...other things happening around here!! Today I sent of an Aussie Hero quilt and laundry bag today

the request was for snowboarding, the recipient is a critical care nurse and has a special black dog! But his laundry bag is just loud!!! The supervisor was just supervising I think!! Lol!!

Made a block for a secret assignment so can't say too much as yet....and found another block Jenny from New Zealand made years ago...think I have found a home for it!

And I went in to my bedroom really quietly so as not to disturb the bunnies....I got one photo and then they all took off.....they are so cute, but they grow in to big bunnies who make more bunnies....oh dear!!

Quietish day

Not much happening here today, we went in to the city to look at some of the Archibald Prize entries - there are some on display at the Hilton on South Bank...called Hidden Faces of the Archibald ..  here..my  sister in law has her painting on show there...of course I had the camera and didn't take a photo duh!!!!
We had had some heavy rain this afternoon and Lake Gisborne made an appearance in our yard!

Lucky I was n the supermarket while the worst was happening....I did ask one man (older person) standing waiting to go to his car in the heavy rain if he would like my umbrella, he replied I am not made of sugar you know girlie.....so girlie took herself off and did the shopping!! Silly old bugger!!

the storm is passing...love rainbows!

Off to do some sewing now I think.

Home again!! and 52 weeks word photo challenge

Well we had the best day of the weekend yesterday - I spent it having a loooong walk to Indented Head boat ramp and back, no blisters this time! Yay!! Then sat in the sun and read books on the back deck until the sun went in...bliss...then had fish and chips for dinner....more bliss....

But on to serious stuff......the word this week for the photo challenge is TRIO...so when I spotted these birds, I thought perfect...I had to zoom in so it is a little fuzzy as I always seem to move the camera when I zoom......

A TRIO of birds on a TRIO of posts and I just noticed a TRIO of birds on a rock too!!

Not so sunny Saturday!

Yesterday I signed up for FNWF and this is what I managed before I collapsed on the couch! Relaxing at the beach is hard work!!  Two appliqués ready to sew and the start of two Christmas decorations using the wonderful Theodora Cleave buttons.

Sunny Friday

It is a beautiful day sunny warmish, calm.....well no not now DH has just started up the lawn mower, so there goes the quiet!!!

I wanted photos from my camera but have not figured how to do that with this tablet yet...

Tupai is relaxing after his morning walk and swim and smelling like a wet sheep...off outside for him I think!

such a lovely day....

As usual I have brought several things to do....this is getting ready for an appliqué mini....

This fabric I got in Samoa and is going to be a table runner....

And the appliqué is ironed on to the quilt ready to be sewn on........but I would rather be sitting in the sun!!!!!!

So I am off to do that.
