Here at home

 things are slowly happening

Anthology blocks have been made, I left the blocks with tiny pieces and did the easier ones first, now they are all I have left and I have to do them!! At least I have learned lots from making them and can do them a little easier than I would have 2 years ago.
I found some strips behind the door of the sewing room, they have been there since 2017, when the Bellarine Quilters had a challenge - mine was never finished, so I am trying to get it done now!

The KOGO blanket is finished and ready to be delivered.

An orchid flower has appeared on the plant out the back

more Anthology blocks

and this weeks blocks - I think I have 5 more to make and I am done!! Then begins the job of the filler blocks and the sashings.
The strippy quilt is quilted and bound now and can go to Oncology next delivery.

I was in the sewing room last Wednesday, hubby was watching State of Origin, I had finished the Strippy quilt and wanted some straight sewing so I opened up Quilt Recipes by Jen Kingwell (I had borrowed the book from Guild) and started to make the Daylesford quilt - I had told myself I was not starting another quilt and here I go!! It is going to be scrappy, using what I have on the shelves.

This quilt top was made by one of the ladies at Bellarine Quilters, she wanted someone to quilt it and as no one else put up their hand I brought it home with me. So this afternoon I am going to sandwich it and start on the quilting.
That is all from this part of the world for now
Happy stitching.

  4. I cannot get over how small those Anthology block pieces are. This quilt is wonderful!

You have been doing a great job getting some UFOs done this week -way to go! I think that gives you permission to start something new.

  7. You have “Slowly” achieved heaps this week. Such a nice variety of projects. I love the Daylesford Quilt. It is a pattern that can have so many different looks depending on the fabrics used. I bought the book and have bought the papers for the Wensleydale Quilt. I just need to finish some other things first.

  13. Wow - very busy - I am really looking forward to seeing Anthology all together - its getting closer!.
I think Daylesford is a bit of a "do what you like" sort of quilt - a perfect stash buster.

  14. Love the strippy quilt. Can't believe you started the Anthology quilt 2 years ago as you have made so many in that time. So many finishes too. Well done. Take care.

  16. Love those Anthology blocks - my favorite is the yellow and green one in the first pic - only I'd either make it huge, or it would be the whole quilt! Your block looks fabulous, though. I also am enamored of the strippy quilt and saved a picture to copy a similar quilt for donation here. If you'd prefer I not, just tell me, as I don't want to presume ... but it is so pretty! Here you have an orchid popping up on the back porch, while I've probably killed 20+ orchid plants just this year trying to get ONE to grow after the initial flowers fell off! Obviously, they like you and your porch better than all my careful tending. LOL That is a beautiful yellow one.
