Slack week

After last week's sewing and binding frenzy I have been a bit slack in the sewing dept. All four quilts were finished and delivered to the hospital
I only took one finished photo, I am sure there are photos if the others on previous posts.
David has a new bike, a trike with a battery,  there he is disappearing into the distance ๐Ÿคฃ
He can no longer balance on his regular bike so needed this to still get some exercise.  I have had a go up the back yard and found it really hard to steer, need more practise!!
We have had some lovely sunny days so walking has been a pleasure
This pelican had the best spot to watch the fishermen come back in
I have visited Finn a couple of times, he is getting ready to crawl
And was ready for dinner, mashed carrots ๐Ÿฅ• and apple ๐ŸŽ with a side of green beans ! Looks like he is getting his 6th tooth coming through.
I got Finn some new socks, with silicon/rubber soles, he thinks they are wonderful for chewing!!

I have been doing a little knitting, it will be for a KOGO blanket, probably will take me a long time!
A new Christmas Tomte came home with me yesterday, he has a light inside his belly
This mess is the tea towel challenge I need to get finished. I decided to make a table cloth for outside,  it will be double sided as I have lots of tea towels to use up.
It is a beautiful sunny day today
So more gardening might happen - I did an hour and a half yesterday, gave the weeds a fright and spread some mulch. I was given 2 tomato seedlings and a cucumber plant yesterday so need to get them into the garden. Now I need to finish a letter, happy stitching.

This and that

The Aussie Hero quilt is now all fixed up and finished and gone to the recipient
I was happy with it.
I had to go to Ocean Grove Monday morning so had a short walk at the beach, there was a howling wind blowing, so it was not pleasant, but I got plenty of fresh air !
The waves were pounding in.
I visited Finn a couple of days over the weekend
He is such a happy soul
His Dad cooked him chicken and mashed potatoes, he played more than he ate that time!
I got caught on the rain one day having a walk
The weather does not bother the pelicans ๐Ÿ˜
Saturday morning I joined on the zoom session with the Chookshed Stitchers, people came and went,
Janet, bottom centre, shared her walk and sunset with us from the US.
I have a pile of quilts to bind, one a day I thought and so far this week nothing has been done.
Maybe tomorrow.
I am off for a walk
Happy stitching.

Retreat day 2

Lots is happening on retreat at Gisborne, I have some photos but not all that is being made.
Margaret came for a sit and sew with us and she made these two beautiful blocks
Maxine finished her bag
Front and
Back, sorry about my ๐Ÿ‘ž 's
Judy has been working on this quilt top made from fabric she has been given
I have been sewing Hank onto his background with a fine zig zag, I kept missing one area so sewed over and over, it looked shocking on the back so I started to unpick and ripped the fabric ๐Ÿคจ
So it had gone into the naughty corner and I will try to fix it up at home, might need to out a little patch over it.
Judy's quilt top all laid out.
Lots happening today but I will update tomorrow. Is a beautiful day here today, we are expecting 23 deg ", tomorrow a change is coming through and we are expecting rain ๐ŸŒง. Not so good for packing up and driving home but what can you do?
Happy stitching.

Kilmore Quilt In

Today I went to the quilt in at Kilmore with the Gisborne Girls and some of the City Girls, the speaker was Maree St  Clair from Maree St Calir quilts ๐Ÿ˜. We started with some show and tell, I only took a few photos, well looks like I disnt take any photos ๐Ÿ™ƒ
But I do have many photos of Maree and her amazing 1930's quilts she has purchased in the US.
Oops I think that was show and tell! ๐Ÿ˜
this was an unfinished quilt
This one Maree made using clamshells - I think from now on they are Maree's quilts
This was a challenge quilt made by a group member
General view of the hall
Above and the next few are the last of the show and tell for the day
Great scrap buster
Maree's shop
The other trader was the Quilt Shop from Eltham,  some purchases might have been made!! ๐Ÿ˜
We all had a wonderful day and the Kilmore Quilting ladies were very friendly and welcoming.
Happy stitching.
