The last couple of weeks

I have finished two more KOGO blankets
I have finished the quilting and sewing in all the endy bits on two cot quilts, these will go to the Children's ward at St John of God hospital for any children in hospital over Christmas

I hope to make some more....๐Ÿ™„
We have had some wonderful sunsets, the colours looked much better in real life
Colac Quilters Guild had their Quilt In last Saturday, a good sized group attended. Gail from Gail's Patchwork was the speaker and it was very interesting hearing about her fabric career.
Looking out the window at the Bowling club, the sun  finally come out and the day was a bit warmer.
A group of happy quilters. Di, Carole  me, Heather and Jo.
I used a gift voucher from Shane plus some more and get this fabric from These Clever Hands,  love her colour curated packs. Blogger wants this photo upside down ๐Ÿคจ
The stars have made it back out of the tin and a few more have been stitched.
Sunday hubby and I went over to Queenscliff (along with what felt like hundreds of other people) and got fish and chips for lunch and ate them over looking the entrance of the bay. The shop we go to has a separate fryer and can guarantee gluten free. Even had a pineapple fritter, something I have not had for years.
We then drove around to Point Lonsdale and had a look there
Lots of surf rolling in.
Today I went to sewing group then had a walk around the lake at Drysdale, was so calm and peaceful.
Home now and I am supposed to be packing, we are staying at Tullamarine tomorrow night and then fly to the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday.
Better get a move on
Happy stitching.

End of another week

Thus month us zooming by quickly, I am sewing scraps, I just found another bag ๐Ÿค”, so they have been packed. I am off to retreat in Gisborne tomorrow, so have my usual pack more than I will probably do, but I have lots of choice.
Two weekends ago I wandered down the M1 and went to Colac to see an exhibition

I didn't take many photos but have a few

These two beauties were silk, wool and lots of free motion quilting and hand stitching.

I will have to go on the lap top and fix up these photos later

This had an eco dyed background, light timber front with paint and scrunched fabric on it, and lots of birds with interesting faces

It was called I am not a gossip so I will only tell you Once. In the background was a tape of whispering voices - so clever.

This was interesting, the shadows created a while new art work

This was more red on the top and had black white and red fabric sewn into a kind of honeycomb.

These birds were made by local school children, you write a wish inside and sew the pieces together and hang, apparently it is a Japanese tradition.

I have spent time with this little treasure who is now 18 months old! We had a great time making cups of tea.

Finn, Tira and I had a walk together in the week, first time we have taken Tira with us, she was good, a bit scared of the pusher but she went well. I was tired when we got back, the others weren't!!

We had a happy game of goal, not sure Finn understands the concept, I think his Dad says it during the football and Finn proudly repeats!
I was given a puzzle last week

One of these where you don't know the picture you are making, it is what the judge can see.
Makes you think!
I had better away and get more packing done
Happy stitching.

Saturday

This morning I went into Colac to do some geocaching and to visit the quilt shop, and I didn't get bogged!!!!
It was cold at the Lake, but great to walk around. I went into town and found the quilt shop but didn't take any photos,  was too busy looking!!
Back at the retreat this was my  next project
This paper foundation block  is my  next challenge,  I will give the link to  the blog it comes from later

Sue is busy sewing her beautiful coloured squares

By 4.45 I had the Kingfisher finished!!
5pm was happy hour where we began to celcbrate Christmas in July,
There was lots of Christmas red and cheer !!

Dinner was served in the dining room, which had been beautifully decorated, we had a wonderful dinner of roast oork, turkey and potato with veges, followed by Xmas pud and custard for the others and a baked apple with currants for me.
Following that we watched LaLa Land in the in house cinema. Now I need some sleep so I have energy to sew tomorrow.
Happy sewing.
