Tiki tour day 9- final day

Today we started out in Albury, visited a quilt shop
Some retail therapy was done there, was an amazing shop
Then we walked along the street

And found a shop with Angel wings in the window.
We then walked to Lincraft and had a look there.
Into the car and headed for

Ned Kelly country,  we got a stamp at the Information centre
From there we headed for Benella, but I somehow managed to put the wrong info in the google maps and we were driving down country dirt roads

And we ended up in Lurg!!!
There is NOTHING at Lurge!! How we ended up coming here I have no idea! Luckily we were not too far from Benalla.....🤪 🙄😬
Another stamp at the info centre, we were told about a church at Goorambat in amongst the painted silos, it was only 15 mins away so off we went and it was so worth it.
This is at the far end of the church and so beautiful.

Outside the church.
From there we were going to head to Euroa but the Info centre was closed so we headed straight for Craigeburn north of Tullamarine and found another quilt shop just before she closed. More retail therapy happened there 🤭

On the way to the airport we saw the sun going down
We made it to the hotel and are checked in, Raewyn is packing her bags before we head downstairs for dinner

Tomorrow I drive off home.
Happy stitching.

Tiki tour day 7

We have spent the day at Cowra today, I spent quite a lot of time in the Westpac trying to sort a problem with our bank cards, two visits later all was well. So we headed for the Info centre
Oops first visit the quilt shop!
Statue on the main street
Now the rose garden.
We followed am Ad Lab that took us to the old watch tower where the POW camp used to be
We then went to find the painted water towers
We went to the Japanese Gardens and rang the peace bell after lunch
We had some company who only wanted bread and would not eat his greens!!
We walked around the gardens, fed the fish and ducks
We spied a 🦎 on a big rock
Checked out the bonsai house
We had a look in the cultural centre, lots of beautiful ceramics and kimono
Went to the Japanese war cemetery
The found the peace bell and rang it! Hope the peace vibes came your way! We are resting and having a cuppa now heading further south tomorrow.
Happy stitching.

Tiki tour day 1

Today I picked up Raewyn from the airport and we headed for Ballarat. We called in at Kryal Castle on our way to get a stamp in our Australian Adventure Passports
Then the selfie queens got busy
Oh dear!! It was a windy time of day.
From here we went to Sebastapol to visit Gail's Patchwork Emporium - what a shop, do much to see!

From here we went to the Wildlife Park and saw the Tassie Devils being fed, they are fierce little critters, busy fighting each other for food,  even though there was enough for both.
There were many koalas to see
this one was snoozing in the sun
I had hoped Raewyn could feed the kangaroos but they were not interested sadly, must have been well fed today
We also saw a quoll being fed
He moved fast so was not easy to catch .
Once we git to our accommodation we settled in, had a cuppa and then had a walk along part of Lake Wendoree
We went to find answers for a cache

Memorial for prisoners of war, sad to see.
We have now had dinner and it is relax time.
No stitching happened today.
Happy stitching.
