The Supervisor and I have enjoyed a couple of at home days, having a walk along the beach, doing a little gardening, some sewing, scrapbooking....relaxing things...blogger is not playing nice and uploading for me, so I will try later.
Well  now it is tomorrow....

Sunday morning walk along the beach

so calm this morning

this bird was busily fishing

and this DC3 flew over, they always remind me of my Dad.

these two blankets were finished Saturday night (yes it was a late one!!)

and this one was finished last night. They are ready for delivery now.

Today I went over to Seachange and there were some quilts on display on the stage at the Seniors Centre...the display was to celebrate their 50 years of operation.

Isn't this beautiful..the colours really pop!

Today

has been Guild day, and it was the Biggest Quilting Bee other wise known as the Buggest Morning tea, so we fundraise for cancer research. The speaker today was the founder of Knitted Knockers, they provide knitted bra inserts for women who have been through a mastectomy.

We were to decorate out tables in pink and yellow, I didn't get a photo of the winning table, but it was beautiful...lots of pink roses, tea cups and saucers and candles with twinkling lights.

These quilts are from the Travelling Suitcase Exhibition

which was supposed to be with us at the Quilt In, but the booking was forgotten

so we had them this month...they are beautiful quilts, the theme was Flora and Fauna.

There wasn't much show and tell today

This is a beautiful quilt that was started in a class at the Guild, Margaret the creator was sewing the binding today.

I have finished my row by row of stars

one more row ro sew onto this KOGO blanket

this one is done and waiting for it's crochet edging.

We had a silent auction at Guild today

I was the successful bidder on these pots of bulbs

and this lovely pot with pansies and lobelia I think, it is all pink coloured flowers. Will look wonderful on the table once it grows a little more.

Time for some dinner and a G & T I think.

Back home again

How nice it is to be back home after caring for Eve for 9 days. There was a VERY special surprise waiting for me, it arrived in the mail.....

How amazing is that?? A Michelle Ridgway original of the Supervisor!! I have to say a few tears were shed when I opened it....Thank you so much Michelle it is beautiful, we both love it and it will be framed and go up next to Puku.  

 I am still gobsmacked and can't believe what you have done, you really are a very special person Michelle. Thank you, thank you , thank you!!!!

So for a bit of a catch up

The Aussie Hero quilt has gone in the mail

And last week Margaret and I presented the Dignity Quilt to Rice Village (back), they were very excited to see the quilt and really pleased with it.

(front) I am pleased to say we have started something here, the quilt was shown at an Australia wide meeting for the Mercy Health organisation and they are going to try and contact quilting groups near the Mercy Health homes and see if that  group will make a Dignity Quilt for them. How good is that, there might even be funds to help them be made. 

While at Eve's place I walked her dog

Basil the Bad, he is a Jug, Jack Russell X Pug. (Looks angelic there doesn't he!!)

We went several days to the Arboretum just down the road, it is a very nice place to have a walk.

The Supervisor likes to lick the soil, shame there are pea seeds sprouting there!!

I have laid out two KOGO rugs in the making.this one isn't too bad

this one had squares of differing sizes, so will be interesting to see how it goes together.

and lastly, if I have not put you to sleep, hubby did another pastel from a photo I took at Hobbiton in NZ. It is framed now so hard to get a reasonable photo. Now we need to find wall space.

This

weekend is the 5th birthday for the Chookshed over at Chookyblue's place. There is a weekend of fun happening at the Chookshed and many of us joining in at home.

Yesterday I went to a UFO sewing day over at Port and had a great day with the girls there most were very productive.

Angela was busy putting together a charity quilt from scraps the group had been given

And I quilted the Aussie Hero quilt and put the binding on. Hand sewing will be the job to be done today.

FNWF results

I had a great evening sewing away last night until I  got too tired and had to stop

I got the blocks sewn together and then sewed them row by row onto the wadding and backing. Todays mission is to do some quilting around the blocks and get the binding on!! 

Off to Port for a UFO day today so will be perfect.

Here we are once again, the first Friday night of the month and that is time to sign up over at Cheryll's for a fun night of stitching with like minded people.

Also this weekend is the birthday weekend for the 5th birthday of Chookyblue and there is a weekend of fun and sewing to come, you can sign up for the fun over at The chookshed

This afternoon I have been in purple heaven sewing blocks for an Aussie Hero quilt, I have one more to do then will work out on the layout tonight during FNWF

I have been enjoying my knitting, one ball of wool is finished and I have started on another...I went to get some more wool

But the pink was no longer available, so guess what?? We have purple instead!! 😀😀

Another

day is zipping by!! This morning the Supervisor and I went for an amble along the beach and back, it was a very slow one this morning. The washing was done while we were out, some is hanging outside just as wet as when it went up, the rest is over one of the heating vents! Might have to bring the outside washing in very soon.
One Aussie Hero quilt top is finished

Managed to get the chevrons, white and colour and forgot to put the owners picture of her dog in a block. I remembered at 2am last night. So it will have to be appliquéd on later.

Today I have been cutting blocks for another Aussie Hero quilt

I have been waiting for fabric for this one but can wait no longer as the deadline can't be extended again. I still have purple and still have a few schnauzers, just not as many as I had hoped. I have also sorted some of the 9 inch squares I was given and they are ready to make half square triangles.

 This afternoon the Supervisor had an appt at the vet, he was due for a needle for his arthritis, so we have done that

And now are back home again. I am going to do some more sewing and the Supervisor will rest and recover from his traumatic ordeal!!!!
