Lovely bird fabric from Karen of KaHolly, for my Sister Karen block.
She is joined by one Sister from NZ and four from Bali.

Last year I bought some orchids from a garage sale, this year we have these lovely flowers
this one also
this one was given to me nearly two years ago and has flowered pretty much non stop. Not sure what I am doing to keep it happy but will carry on. The original flower was pure white, all the flowers since are this colour.
I could hear a galah chattering away over the road, by the time I got the camera, two more had joined in
Such beautiful birds.
I am off to the sewing room now and ignoring the gathering clouds outside...yes I have washing on the line!!
Happy stitching.
The sisters are growing and looking lovely together...
ReplyDeleteI have the bird fabric , good to see Karen also had some over in Canada...
On the block we often get LOTS of galahs vistiting...
The new sisters are gorgeous! Flowers and birds are pretty too.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt blocks are fab, and I love the idea of your international sisters. Your orchids are doing very well, mine is dormant just now, but I'm hoping it will bloom again sooner or later. Love the galas, we don't have them living free here. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh those orchids are lovely Sue. The International Sisters blocks are a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe sisterhood is growing nicely. You certain have the right touch with orchids, and obviously he right spot for them. They are beautiful. Galahs are clowns, aren’t they. I hope the washing dried. Ours did (but I wouldn’t have minded it getting rained on).
ReplyDeleteLoving all your sisters. Your orchids are beautiful. Mum just brought an orchid cutting around this afternoon for me which hails from my aunt's plant. She died about 50 years ago. Her memory lives on.
ReplyDeleteLovely sisters - would you like some fabric from France? Well done on keeping those orchids going. xx
ReplyDeleteWow, love your orchids! :-)
ReplyDeleteNice blocks,
xx
Love the Sisters blocks but am really impressed with your orchids. I've considered buying one but wasn't sure if I'd be able to get it to re-flower. Yours are certainly gorgeous and from a yard sale? Wow!
ReplyDeleteYour "sisters" are looking lovely... xox
ReplyDeleteWonderful sisters, and beautiful orchids. I'm fascinated by the one that was white at first and now is so colorful. I wonder if it's something in the soil or water where you are? Or it was a hybrid that reverted, maybe? I don't know if they do that, but I know that the reseeded pineapple sage plants I have are just sage this year. I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy new plants - and it is prolific! Just not pineapple smelling or tasting. Maybe orchids do that, too. I'm amazed at anyone who can grow any orchid, though!
ReplyDeleteYour sisters blocks are looking great! My progress has stalled, but not for long! Those orchids are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese sisters do tend to multiply. They like to party and before you know it they will overtake the place. Love your choice of fabrics and complexions. The bird fabric is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have had some luck with re-flowering orchids but not as miraculous as white flowers followed by pink ones :-)
Cute fabric swaps? Sorry I've missed some of your posts. Your Orchids look fabulous, we have some growing wild in our garden, but the bugs love to munch on them so they do not look as pretty as yours.
ReplyDeleteYour sister blocks are all lovely Sue & what a great idea - swapping the fabrics with other "sisters". Loving your orchids - I was given an indoor one for Mothers Day & its still flowering away merrily despite my neglect.
ReplyDeleteHi I have some orchids for the first time. did you do anything special to get them to flower ...or me survive?? Yours are beautiful
ReplyDeleteYour International Sisters are very cool :-) I am accumulating a wee pile.... Beautiful Orchids.
