Saturday at Guild

Yesterday was Guild day and it was good to catch up with lots of people. Show and tell was wonderful, the theme was childrens quilts, but also recently made quilts as well.
Lovely golly quilt

Quilt top that will be a play mat

My two quilts, binding finished. Several ladies are interested in making quilt tops for the oncology ward, so I am very happy with that.

Tumbling blocks quilt, Xmas swap quilt and future raffle quilt from the Bellarine Quilters members

beautiful hexie quilt

and this was the first big quilt for a grand daughter, Where is the Astronaut?? That would keep a little one busy for ages.
I had better head off and do something, it is a beautiful sunny breezy day here, the washing is flying around on the outside line.
Happy sewing.

On the move

This week seems to have involved lots of driving! Yesterday hubby and I went up to Harcourt, hubby has done this trip many times but missed the turnoff and so we had a bit of a tiki tour getting to where we needed to go!! It took us an hour and a half longer to get there yesterday. I have to go with hubby these days as he finds the driving too tiring for him. Once we got there hubby got to the job in hand which was cutting the grass around a memorial to his Dad and three other of his dad's and hubby's friends.
Bit of a delay finding a branch broken off the gum tree

plaque

my view while having lunch.
On the way home we found a few geocaches (hubby was not keen but cooperated)

this one nearly put us both off..it got a good poke with a stick before being lifted out of the tree stump!!

we stopped for another cache near Mount Franklin, we camped here many years ago. There is a camp site in the centre of the old volcanic cone.

another weather change on the way home.
While  we were out I had a call to say Joan the quilter had finished my quilts..

This panel has been waiting to be free range quilted for 5 months...I took it to Joan and now it is done!!

this is a very dark photo, taken last night, but the quilts look fantastic quilted, hope to start the binding today.
Also,
Some fabric has been cut for another fat quarter quilt, am using more than 5 this time to make it a little bigger
I am off to bind.

Out and about

This afternoon I was taking some  quilt tops to the quilters and hubby decided to come along for the ride, so I decided we would go look for a couple of geocaches while we were out!!
The Supervisor had to stay at home, he was not happy!

The 5 fat quarter top is done and ready to be quilted

with a bright orange backing!

We found one cache at the end of the road here..some creep had dumped their rubbish nearby!! I don't understand why people feel the need to do that! But it was a beautiful view and calm today, no wind!

I have finished two balls of wool on the KOGO blanket, now I have picked up the stitches on the side and am working out that way.

still working on the next border for the Doing the Rounds quilt, must get back to that now.
Happy stitching.
