Ingrid finished this quilt yesterday, made with some of the Advent Blocks from Susan's blog. Ingrid added patterned fabric around the edge, it looks almost art deco I think.
Yesterday I made a shopping bag from two fat quarters I found at Lizzie's Quilt shop, perfect for Belinda at SJOG.
Yesterday I was also sewing jell roll strips into sections of 10.
Ingrid making 4 patches.
Yesterday morning I saw a blog post from Carole, she is doing a live event to make blocks and quilts for Quilts of Valor. As we cannot be there we decided to make a block each to post.
Our calculations making half square triangles was a bit out so we ended up making two blocks each, Ingrid's above
and mine below. Mine are especially well made, twice in fact as I reversed the star points and ended up with squares!! They look much better this way! These will go into the mail to Carole tomorrow.
In between getting a chicken on to roast and peeling the veges, I finished sewing the strips together and made this quilt top. It takes one jelly roll and a twenty and a half inch centre square. This will probably go to the oncology ward.
Before Ingrid left we auditioned fabrics for the border of the cherry quilt. We decided a piano keys type border might be the go. So I am off to do some more cutting!
Happy stitching.
