This week

I decided it was time to scrub the table on the front deck and to sandwich a quilt that has been on the spare bed for months, it was breezy outside but pleasant
We had the grand fur kids over for the afternoon
They enjoyed their dog peanut butter biscuits
Earlier in the day I had a walk with Beth and Finn
The bookcase quilt has been quilted by Joan and has the binding on, now for a hanging sleeve
Yesterday I went into Geelong to see an exhibition of Wool and Art quilts at the Wool Museum
It is a amazing old building

This was my favourite, the quilting was stunning

such wonderful detail in the background

This pledge was in a pocket on the quilt below
This was another favourite
Also on display
A wedding dress using lace table cloth and doilies
The coat on the right is made by a NZ born Korean man, made in Korean style
Dress on the left using batik traditions and on the right using Aboriginal weaving

And a bollard of the artist who made all the bollards around Eastern Beach in Geelong.
One last quilt, loved the colours and the tiny blocks
Happy stitching.

Since my last post

We have been to Queensland for a long weekend, i have been walking, walking and walking done more and a little bit of sewing has happened!
While getting answers for a cache we climbed Emu Mountain near Perigian Springs and had a great view of Coolum Beach
We saw these flowers while looking for another cache
Got a bit closer to Coolum Beach
How is that for a tempting view?
We looked a while for whales but no luck.
We followed a trail along this creek in Perigian Springs , once again looking for caches
Them we had to fly home, out flight was delayed over two hours as Melbourne airport was fog bound and the planes could not leave.
We were finally home at 8.30pm, rather than our hoped for 5pm.
I Have been walking a lot lately, fund-raising for the orang-utans
The aim was to walk 57,000 steps a week  to remember that there are only 57,000 orang-utans left in the wild. When i first started caring for orang-utans I read they would be extinct in my life time kind of a scary thought! So I do what I can. I want to thank the lovely people who supported me, you made my day!
I am pleased to say of the three weeks I walked (I was late to the party!!) I made 66,672 steps the first week  70,038 the second and 62,163 the third. I would be very challenged to keep that up but hope to at least manage 7000 steps a day! We will see!
I have been working away in the evenings on my hand stitching project, it is slowly growing

Views along the beach from walks
I visited Finn
We had a chat and a play
I have walked the dogs and they have been here for a play
I have has the all is good phone call from the neuro Dr regarding my brain MRI, so very happy with that.
Ok that Is enough from me!!
Happy stitching.

He is a happy little chap and loves his Mum and Dad

And enjoys a walk
I have an appt with the cerebrovascular consultant this morning, via Telehealth, so far I have been waiting 42 minutes, much better than sitting in the waiting room because I can do this
Slowly a new jumper is being made.
Off to wait some more
Happy stitching.

Here I am once again!

The last month has whizzed by, I have been doing things but when I look back at my photos there isn't much to show!

I made a little taggie for Finn, I don't think I put enough taggies in it, I have just looked at Susan's and think I should have had a few more. Not to worry he seem to like it!
I have made a lighthouse quilt for friends on the Sunshine Coast, they used to work in lighthouses years back

Joan has quilted it for me in a lovely wave pattern, next job is to sew on the binding.

Carole over at My Carolina Home is having a quilt drive , you can read about it on her blog, I thought I would use up some orphan blocks languishing in my block holder, these started as a hand sewn quilt, a pattern came out each month, I cant remember the magazine now, but it might have been Today's Quilter.

I got out the blocks, made them into little quilts, quilted and bound them and found they were too big, I hadn't read the requirements properly, so now I will need to find another home for them. They are too big to be sent to Carole.
I signed up last Friday for a fundraiser with the BOS Australia group  to try and walk 57,000 steps a week
Thank you to the lovely people who have sponsored me, great motivation to keep walking!
Up until yesterday I have done 57,308 steps! Pretty happy with that. I was late starting this but will continue until the end of the month.
I have finally worked out how to send photos from my phone to the lap top (I think)

These photos are from Portarlington and Clifton Springs, I was walking and looking for geocaches, which is great motivation for me!!

These are the start of the filler blocks I need to make for the Anthology quilt, I have finished all the blocks, I just need to find the last photo!
Block 182.

I will put this into drafts as I have to go and get dinner!
Maybe I can finish this on the phone
