Here it is the start of May already, which means tonight is Friday Night with Friends hosted by Cheryll. You can sign up over at her blog and join in tonight.
This week I put together the remaining Australian animals blocks and made a quilt top for Finn, I need to get something soft for the backing.
Next week I am going on retreat to Gisborne, so I have sandwiched the quilt below I was given to finish off for Oncology
the quilt below I made
and another I was given to finish off.
I also got out the knitted blocks Jenny had started to sew together when she was here and got the blanket all sewn together, now I need to crochet a border around the edge and it will be ready for KOGO, they are in need of blankets this time of the year, so I need to get the other two bags of squares I have here sewn together too.
I bought some fabric when I was away
I couldn't leave these panels in the shop, Raewyn and I stopped at the Crafters Cottage in Coonabarabran on out way to Baradine. These panels were too nice to leave behind!
Driving through Corowa Raewyn spotted a quilt shop, so we parked and went to have a look
I had to take this and the panel below home, they are perfect for Aussie Hero quilts
and this panel will make a wonderful advent calendar for Finn
and this fabric is for a project I have in the back of my mind 😉
and I found this lovely key ring in with my bag of goodies. There was so much to look at in this shop, it made a wonderful break from driving.
I received this great bag of strips from Marina, so soon they will be stamped and cut up for the cropped diamonds quilt top
I have this pile to cut waiting attention, so I had better be off and get them done.
Happy stitching.
Such a lot happening here as always! Hope you have a great time at Gisborne - another retreat so soon!! xx

It looks like you are going to be very busy in the sewing room. Some lovely purchases there. Love the Aussie Christmas panel.
ReplyDeleteYou did well with your shopping. Those animal panels are too cute.
ReplyDeleteGosh you have plenty on the go Sue. Have a wonderful time at retreat - will you do the quilting on those quilts while there? I can see that Finn will have plenty of quilts to snuggle in, play on and gaze at. The animal blocks one has come up nicely. Hehe good that we can sniff out a quilt shop at 50 yards isn't it?! Lovely purchases. I know those panels you bought will make up into something beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI just love the panels you purchased of the birds. It will be a stunning project whatever you decide to do with them.
ReplyDeleteYour Churn Dash turned out wonderful!
Lots of lovely quilts to work on and a great way to build up your fabrics....
