Quilt retreat

I came through to Birregurra yesterday to a quilt retreat with some of the Bellarine ladies, I did some geocaching on the way, which I relly enjoyed until I got the car bogged on the side of the road, luckily there was a dead bush nearby so I was able to get branches to shove u nder the wheel and after 5 attempts got back out on the road!! I can tell you my blood pressure was very high by then.
We are back at the old hospital, that has been converted to a B &B
There are lots of beautiful antiques and bits of furniture all around

Love this penguin
This is the little sitting room Sue and I are sewing in

Last night I was sewing tumbler blocks, this is  QFO from Seachange

And this morning I got it all finished. I went for a walk after lunch and found

the new quilt shop...small but has beautiful fabric and classes on offer.

I even found some bollards by the Primary School
This afternoon I finished the Spidey quilt, quilted and trimmed

The almost Chevron quilt is quilted and trimmed to. We have now had dinner and I am heading back to sew some more.
Happy sewing.

FNWF

I had a great night last night at Marg's beautiful house, Tania and I made ourselves at home, we had yummy food to eat, dogs to entertain us, wonderful music and our sewing!! What more  could you want than to spend an evening with good friends? Sadly Tracee-Lee couldn't be with us as she had a prior commitment, maybe next month!!
my favourite food!!! Marg is good good to me (and the others!!)

my hexagons being sorted (don't know why the photo is like it is...looks like two for one!!Lol!)

Tania working away on her Halloween wall hanging...

Margaret working on her Christmas stitchery

Yep...I actually did some stitching on hexagons....

and got distracted by Jasmine.....

and had a cuppa....you can see Marg's beautiful little tumbler block quilts, she has made three for Blankets of Love to be sent off to Cheryll soon

Tania has made great progress with her hand quilting on the Halloween wall hanging

and now the girls are saying I am developing anal tendencies by putting my finished hexagons into the top of my new sewing caddy.....mmmmmmm.....have another plan for them now!!!  Hope you enjoyed FNWF you can see what others have been doing here. Happy sewing! ;-)

Work in progress

Work in progress for the day today...I am attempting a raggy seams quilt to go downstairs here at St Leonard's, but I have to watch over this fabric as Tania is coveting it!! Have to check her bags before we go home!! Lol!!

slowly getting the diagonal quilting done in between chatting and cups of tea!

hexies are all sewn together.....by hand....now to resort to the machine as this needs to be finished soon!!

So as we were having a sewing day.....we went shopping!!! Tania and I have decided to restart an idea we had a while ago, where we write up the craft we have done each day and we attempt to do at least 10 minutes a day.....will keep us motivated we reckon!! Lol!! So we got a journal each, I found some Xmas cards ( I am not ready for Xmas yet!!) and a little candle.

Tania bought me this beautiful mug, flowers on one side.....

and butterflies on the other...really pretty isn't it?

then we went over the road to the crystals etc shop and came out with another candle - cinnamon scented, perfume, incense, and little container to burn the cone incense in. Not bad for a day in sewing!!! Lol!!

Back to work......

and Tania is working on her secret project, she is busy with quilting here.

Guess who wanted to come inside??? Not with that huge drool my man!!!! Maybe later.
