A finish, but photo heavy

I have been sewing away on the medallion Mystery today
these blocks were done

as were these, despite my careful sewing and measuring

two blocks came out very uneven...not sure how that goes for the rest of the quilt...

but the finished medallion! Only lost one point and had a few nearly meeting seams but I am happy with it.
This morning the Supervisor and I had our stroll along the beach

started out quietly but we met a few other dogs along the way.

beautifully calm this morning

the supervisor had a paddle on the way back home.

The bees were busy in this purple flowering bush when I was hanging out the washing.
Yesterday on my way to sewing at Port I noticed these young birds on the power lines

I think they are teenage corellas

they were trying to chew through the line

then they decided to hang by their beaks and have a bit of a foot fight! They made me laugh!
Sewing was busy, we had a good crowd, this was only one table, there was another table behind me and then the ladies on their sewing machines
We heard we had taken over $2000 for the raffle at the quilt show...that money gets divided into $500 lots and goes to local charities.

Show and tell from Ann. This was a memory quilt made form some of her late husbands clothes, she has made one for each of her daughters. Isn't that a wonderful thing to do.
Last night

I finished all the flowers on the corners of the Doing the Rounds quilt. Yay!!

My meeting in the centre got better as I progresses, I am still debating whether to put a circle over the top of the centre or not

Last night I also appliqued on the little hexies to go in between the petals. Hope to do some more this evening.
I am off to sit and read in the sun for a while.
Happy stitching.

  5. And you saved the best til last! Doing the rounds looks so amazing - which is not to say that your medallion is not lovely as it is, such beautiful colours. But doing the rounds steals my heart. Lovely bird pictures. xx

  6. What a lovely full day! Your Rounds quilt looks fabulous. Every step it gets better. I don't think you should put a center over the corner flowers. They look just fine! The beach walk looks like great weather, and fun in the water, too. I think I would have had a good laugh at your birds, as well I like your big blocks, and the finished one looks quite fine, so a little bobble along the way is nothing to worry about. =)
