FNWF

Another first Friday of the month has come and gone, but I think we can gather again next Friday for another evening of virtual sewing together. I got busy in the afternoon
some borders went onto the secret sewing project

The LOUD Japanese fabric got a black border

another block was made for the Sylvia's Bridal  Sampler , yes an easy one! Then I had to stop and get some dinner, no pizza delivery tonight, hubby had prawns (nasty smelly things) in basil pesto sauce with pasta and I had a gluten free pizza with ham and pineapple. Then we had a video call with #1 son...kind of lost the sewing mojo, but then  hubby started watching the football, an old game being shown as the current season is postponed for now, so that sent me back into the sewing room.

So I sewed some baby hexies  for the next Anthology block

and some more hearts.
You can see what the other Friday Nighter's got up to over at Cheryll's blog.
The care home Mum is in are doing their utmost to keep families in touch while the home is in lock down, we have had a video call with Mum, very new technology for her and yesterday they sent a photo
Not a sentiment my mother has ever expressed to me but none the less wonderful to see. She is looking good for 94 years.
Right off to see what Saturday brings.
Happy stitching.

  2. you have been busy! love those little hexies..and it's lovely to see that the care homes are doing that bit extra to reassure families that their loved ones are ok, it must be so difficult for both the patients and families not being able to visit

  4. How lovely that your mum was able to get in touch and show her feelings this way! You did some beautiful sewing, too and I can understand football sending you back to your room to sew! Stay safe, hugs, Valerie

  5. I have the same sentiments about footy and most other sports for that matter!!! You certainly achieved a lot. It is very hard for older ones isolated in nursing homes when most of them look forward to visitors to break up their day.

  7. football does that to me too - and often I am happy to escape!
It must be hard for the folk in aged care...often there are few enough visitors and none at all now... And often phonecalls are no sue if there are hearing problems.
Lots of colourful projects happening down there.

  11. You certainly achieved more than me on Friday night. Isn't it lovely that the care home are doing that. Your Mum is looking great for her age. I"m just chatting to my Mum daily. I think as time goes on they will arrange something similar.

  13. well done for the care home to help keep in touch.... she looks very well for her age... lovely sewing happening, i think it is hard to be excited about things at the moment, even those things that make us happy. It's work every day to keep motivated I think. I'm intrigued with your secret sewing... knitting needles and wool on the stamp maybe.... when is the great reveal?
