Sunday

Another day of catching up!! I have one happy hubby as his AFL team Richmond, won the grand final yesterday! I have been doing a bit of this and that
The wisteria is in full bloom on the back deck, the perfume is beautiful.

The Sisters are finished and delivered to the quilter, I had a few moments of panic when the backing I had purchased was not big enough for the quilt by about 10 inches....that says something about my measuring skills!! Some extra fabric was added and life carried on. The binding is sewn together, just needs ironing.

The Supervisor and I had a lovely walk along the beach

We saw a Galah and Eastern Rosella feeding down near the bush

and two Wood Ducks having a chat up a tree

Friday night, while I had one eye on the TV I decided to join a few of these shapes together. I stamped onto left over bits of fabric and cut them out, probably not the best time to try something new as a fair amount of unsewing had to happen! I think I have it worked out now.

I have finished another 23 One Block Wednesday blocks, I need to do a count up now, to see how many more I need to do. The end is getting closer.

This quilt top was sandwiched and quilted over Friday and Saturday morning.

After doing the quilting I thought I had better try and clean out the machine, it has not been done for a long time as you can see.

Mmmmmmmm....this is what came out.

This afternoon I have sandwiched the minions, so I had better head off and do some simple quilting.

Happy stitching.

  4. Sue, what do you mean by... stamped on the fabric. Is there a stamp you can get for a shape.

  5. Some lovely projects there
Your view from the deck is lovely
What a shocking game that Grand Final was
I was so hoping Richmond would win but it would have been nice if they had a bit of opposition. Not a big football fan myself but Hubby always watches it

  6. What lovely international sisters! I love the picture of the wood ducks. It almost looks like a silhouette. I wish I could smell the wisteria, too!

  10. Sometimes while reading a quilt blog, my mind says, "Hey, wait a minute! Where ARE these people again?" We got snow overnight! Love your wisteria! Wow, that is a LOT of lint in your machine! It is a wonder it played nice for you.

  11. That wisteria is amazing. How long did it take to grow that big? I am sure you and the supervisor are enjoying the nicer weather for walks. All of your quilt projects are as wonderful as ever!

  15. Your wisteria is putting on quite a show. We’ve just planted one this year, so fingers crossed for flowers next year. Don’t your sisters look great together. A pieced backing adds interest, so consider it a design feature. Enjoy playing with your hexies. They will be pretty. I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds dust monsters in my machine. At least they show that your machine has been used.
