Update

I have done a little more on the Doing the Rounds, red hexies are appliqued around the big petals, I do have a little problem, I didn't make enough and now can't find the left over fabric!! Tskkkkk!! Have also started on the little flowers.

Very happy with the progress so far

Supervisor sleeping on the job today 😆

Little petals are going to look wonderful

You can see my problem, I need to go and do another search for fabric.

Woops I woke the supervisor up 😆 he has gone outside now.

Only place to get some peace and quiet !!
I have spent the last hour cutting out these labels for the Bellarine Quilters, they are to go on the quilts for others, well I am successfully avoiding what I need to be doing 😆 had better get back to it.
Happy stitching.

A finish, but photo heavy

I have been sewing away on the medallion Mystery today
these blocks were done

as were these, despite my careful sewing and measuring

two blocks came out very uneven...not sure how that goes for the rest of the quilt...

but the finished medallion! Only lost one point and had a few nearly meeting seams but I am happy with it.
This morning the Supervisor and I had our stroll along the beach

started out quietly but we met a few other dogs along the way.

beautifully calm this morning

the supervisor had a paddle on the way back home.

The bees were busy in this purple flowering bush when I was hanging out the washing.
Yesterday on my way to sewing at Port I noticed these young birds on the power lines

I think they are teenage corellas

they were trying to chew through the line

then they decided to hang by their beaks and have a bit of a foot fight! They made me laugh!
Sewing was busy, we had a good crowd, this was only one table, there was another table behind me and then the ladies on their sewing machines
We heard we had taken over $2000 for the raffle at the quilt show...that money gets divided into $500 lots and goes to local charities.

Show and tell from Ann. This was a memory quilt made form some of her late husbands clothes, she has made one for each of her daughters. Isn't that a wonderful thing to do.
Last night

I finished all the flowers on the corners of the Doing the Rounds quilt. Yay!!

My meeting in the centre got better as I progresses, I am still debating whether to put a circle over the top of the centre or not

Last night I also appliqued on the little hexies to go in between the petals. Hope to do some more this evening.
I am off to sit and read in the sun for a while.
Happy stitching.

This and that

Last Wednesday at sewing group Jill finished all the sewing she had brought with her, so I asked if she wanted to sew on one of my petals on the Doing the Rounds and she did!!Yay!! Love the help and cooperation quilters show and I now have a little of Jill in my quilt.

I stumbled across a Medallion Mystery quilt on facebook, signed up to do the blocks and to the fb group, I have block 2 and nothing else, so have signed up again, we will see what happens. Currently it is week 3.

this is the start of the block, points are a weeny bit out but I am happy with it

I happily put on the next round, ironed it, took it to show the hubby and realised the top row is on the wrong way!!! Ppffff!!! So some unsewing happened while I cooked dinner, I need to take another photo as it is sewn back on the correct way now!

Don't think the supervisor is happy with me moving around all the time!
We have had some beautiful roses in the garden

which are now inside to enjoy. The perfume is lovely.

There is a vine growing on the back fence, the leaves look like clematis, but the flower is like a passionfruit...any ideas please? It is very invasive, we are constantly pulling out runners popping up everywhere.

another lovely rose which also smells beautiful.
Hubby bought me two bird boxes for my birthday

they are now in the gum tree in the back yard, they are as high as we could get them...hubby saw some galahs inspecting them this afternoon, hopefully we get some residents. There are two boxes next door that have a large family of galahs living there, so we are hoping....

the fig tree is producing
so is the plum tree

the geraniums are very happy

Lovely photo of the Supervisors bum...we have a family of ravens in the garden and they seem to be carrying bones in from somewhere, the supervisor has worked out that gifts are falling in the garden and he is sniffing them out!!
Happy stitching.

Wandering Camera

Today, this last Thursday of October I am linking with Whims And Fancies for Wandering Camera

Today I have delivered Jenny into Melbourne, we went up on the train and then by taxi to the hotel. They ladies couldn't get into their room until 2pm and were wanting lunch, so,we wandered off to Southbank to the food hall.
After a good lunch we crossed the nearest bridge
We wandered across the bridge

And had a great view of the Yarra river , you can see why it is called the upside down river!!

Then wandered along Swanston Street, past the Town hall

A tram and the town hall

And then to the Bourke Street mall, this building is the old Post Office

I have finished one flower on Doing the Rounds, the centre is a bit wonky, but I will cover it with a circle.

The next flower has been started on 😆.
If you pop over to Whims and Fancies you can see where other Wandering camera people have been.
Happy stitching.

Torquay

Yesterday we drove down the coast to Torquay to take the laptop to the laptop doctor. After dropping that off we did a bit of a tiki tour and had lunch by the beach.
After lunch we had a drive out to Bells Beach to show Jenny a place she hadn't been to before

Some brave bodies were out surfing

These guys were just heading out, they needed shoes to walk over the rough stones

One caught a wave

It is beautiful coast line down here

Jenny has been working away sewing squares together for KOGO blankets, last night I finished the crochet edge on them. Ready to be sent back now.
We have sewing group at St Leonards this morning so I had better get myself organised.
Happy stitching.
